Recently, I've been on the IRC channel, trying to get LGM to work on linux PPC. As we thought it was my java version, I managed to install Ubuntu 12.04 on my ibook g4 (PPC). Java is updated to version 1.7.0_21, but when running LGM, I still get this:
Java Version: 10700 (1.7.0_21)
Exception in thread "main" java.awt.HeadlessException
   at java.awt.SplashScreen.getSplashScreen(SplashScreen.java:117)
   at org.lateralgm.main.LGM$SplashProgress.<init>(LGM.java:797)
   at org.lateralgm.main.LGM.main(LGM.java:617)

It's a bit of a long-shot, but based on this post: http://osdir.com/ml/bsd-port-dev/2011-09/msg00024.html, running LateralGM with java -Djava.awt.headless= -jar lateralgm.jar might work. Do you know if you only get the exception when trying to get LGM to work, or does it happen with other Java GUI software as well?

It appears to work now. I guess I just forgot to install the Java 7 runtime
