Issues Help Desk / Re: Friend can't run Enigma
« on: March 29, 2015, 02:32:18 PM »
We fixed the issue by replacing the jar as Ideka said, however, he still have an issue, his compiler refuses to compile anything. Would this be caused by the paths?

EDIT - He can run it now after moving to his C drive, thank you! ^^

EDIT: It works with no issues at all on windows, but it appears to be something to do with the ini functions. Would this be because Linux does not support ini files?
If it is, how do I store settings??

EDIT2: Okay, I'm pretty sure that's the problem, INI files are obviously a windows thing, and Linux doesn't use them. Looks like Linux users will not be able to save their settings for now :/

Thanks for any help, sorry that every time I post here it's kinda repetitive with errors.

EDIT - This is irrelevant, but the pc used to be his mom's, so he's not "Elaine", haha.

EDIT2 - Is it to do with spaces in the path?

EDIT3 - I will get him to try an alternate pair of jar files. I have sent him my enigma.jar and lateralgm.jar, hopefully it will make ENIGMA work.

EDIT4 - Not working, waiting for further assistance.

Issues Help Desk / Re: Issues running ENIGMA in school
« on: February 27, 2015, 01:52:43 PM »
1) CMD is blocked in my school.
2) PowerShell isn't even available there.
3) Everything is locked down on the computers, I can't right click on anything unless it's on a web browser, word processor, or any other 3rd party application.

It looks like I'll have to stick with Appshed. Blegh.

I used the jar file. It was in the portable zip, and I can't use the EXE as it is bat-based and batch files are disabled. Is it possible to use a vbscript to run Enigma.exe?

I decided I'd try running Enigma whilst I was at school, not sure if the error is due to administrative privileges, but here's the log

« on: February 13, 2015, 07:30:36 PM »
I still got an error, it took so long to report it though, I didn't bother updating the post because I was too tired, but yea. - Also, I lost the log, but I couldn't find anything that explained it, but in the terminal it literally just printed '3' at the end, no other info. In the compiler dialouge, it just said failed to compile...

Also, I hope he's not, he's been really helpful, we can't afford to lose him!

If anyone ever makes an IDE, then make it use tabs instead of scattered windows like that of gamemaker.

Also, thank you ExDeus, I will use that if it works.

EDIT: I am getting the exact same error as before.

EDIT2: I copied the jars from the version I use on windows into the one I built on Linux, it appears to be working perfectly so far...

EDIT3: I got this error upon compiling/testing "Line 9, position 13 (absolute 485): Invalid assignment to function `time'"
It works fine in windows :/

EDIT4: I changed the variable because it may be a conflict, so far so good though, so yeah....

Just a reminder, this still isn't fixed, however, I'll try redownloading it.

I still have that error in the version you sent me in "Enigma.zip"
The version in the other zip appears to be too old. It doesn't even have the run functions from current Enigma.

EDIT: This time I got a full error report, here it is:

Ah, however you did not send me that link. :P
anyway, I tried the version that works on windows, but got a few errors, so I tried to run the install.py, it appeared to work ok, then I opened it, and got this:

I updated my jars, however, it is still the same error.

have the repositories been updated for Enigma yet? If not, how long? Will I have to copy my files from my windows install?

Oh, ok. If I had enough experience in Java, I may have been able to help, but I have only had experience messing with Minecraft's source code...

Ideas and Design / Re: In need of a Sonic fangame engine for Enigma
« on: December 11, 2014, 11:36:23 AM »
Thanks Robert. It'd be extremely useful, as Polygone gave the objects names that are not acceptable to most of the sonic community. It's not me, it's other people complaining that I should prefix them with obj_, even though I have told them countless amounts of times that I didn't create the original base engine.
