Just an insight into how my brain ticks over these days.

The internet is the reflection of life.  People succeed and make money NOT because of their hard work and talent but because of popularity... Life is a popularity contest.  Some people become viral and famous overnite with trash posted on social media, some actually deserve it because they are bloody creative geniuses, and many don't fucking deserve it,

So, I fully understand your position, TKG. And none of us are 'out to get you'. We all have bad days and post crap that we didn't really mean. It really does happen to all of us. 

You just need to really sit back and start disregarding peoples posts if you don't agree with what they say. Once you realise it. The 'block' button is your best friend. Once someone throws garbage at you, 'block' and then

Block/ignore button on forums, though one would really miss out by blocking you as you give constructive feedback / criticism that can be useful.  to think that all these fights over a video player bloody hell, good thing you are not a married couple you would have killed yourselves LOL.

You are probably taking big decisions by emotions, been there mate, I almost hit that delete account more than once, don't let the emotions guide you!
In this case sometimes just letting the dust settle and moving on helps...I've been in such situations, you say what you have to say and then move on, sometimes people misinterpret things and bash you, but then you defend your view and attempt to fix things......been there a lot on forums.....you just learn in time to let dust settle and avoid situations that can spark trouble.... take it as a learning experience..... Remember the religion topic you started that created a lot of tension between myself and some users ? That is a good example of learning experience, things were said and we moved on......There are many occasions I too would have closed my account.

If you feel you need time out, you can simply log off and not visit the forum.....asking to be banned is kinda odd though, but in some cases a timeout is good, and if you really  cannot control it, much like a gambler asking to be excluded from casino then I guess so be it, keep in mind you are not alone, many have gone through this stage, including your best mate lonewolff - and myself, and many others, different people handle it differently.  I take it as a learning experience and I too think many times before hitting submit and try as much as possible to avoid topics that can go downhill...... we are human and not perfect.

You might even use this as inspiration to a game, like you did with the bully game HD thingy

Indeed, guests are not "HIDDEN" logins, but just as the name implies........."guests", they don't have any registered accounts but just browsing the forum ! and even if there were spies, what's to spy on FFS, the grand secret of the caramilk bar ? the secret recipe for reeses's cups ? nothing to spy on really

Hidden logins simply don't show here, period..... Mind you on some forums there is a label "hidden:" and the number of users hidden.  I don't know if this is done here, but I think not.

I think some people who use hidden logins, often have multiple social media accounts and at times don't want to be contacted or seen.

There are legit reasons for using such features, it's not always used for hiding or mischief.

On some forums it could be used for banned users evading ban and spying on what is being said.....So technically, once you delete your account and want to see what people are saying, you are not hidden, you are a guest again.....(guest at your own funeral ? LOL!)

I voted No, I don't personally use that feature but could bloody care less if others do, this is not MI5 people come on, if people want to log secretly that is their choice for whatever reason they choose, admins have the ability to still see them so this is just to be invisible to public view, for whatever reason I care less, maybe we can move on to more serious debates lol!

Too much spaghetti too much legal jargon it turns anybody off NOT to read !  Before voting, could you please provide some real world EXAMPLES, not just jargon.....

Examples how it would apply to each vote.......Such as I create a game using ENIGMA, I do this, I do that, this is allowed, this is not, using an example and not just repeating words from the license, so most of us license illiterates can better understand, because I'm pretty sure most people have at one time violated one or more licenses unintentionally, because of the long winded legal jargon that makes you dizzy !

So here is a template:

I use ENIGMA to create my game.
Along with ENIGMA I use other 3rd party open source OR I use my own proprietary code that I embed inside the ENIGMA OR that I call externally...... 

Or how about this, so long as ENIGMA was not modified and integral and used to making your games, your game would not require source availability.  In other words you can license your creation as you want (without having to distribute its source) BUT mentioning ENIGMA used or not or whatever, which license would be best for that....

I recall these long debates light years ago with never-ending debates on down sides of each.
So it's always a damned if you do damned if you don't scenario.

Perhaps if there were more concrete examples of how this could apply instead of citing back the jargon, it would help the masses.

A lot of people violate licenses, every second, thousands of people do......How many get caught is the question......too few......how many worthwhile being perused, again good question.......point being most people don't read licenses, and if they do they are so tangled into the spaghetti and meatballs, that they don't understand a bloody thing.

When you travel and take travel insurance, do you read the 900 page policy ? who does...... DO people read the dozen page software licenses ? you know the fine print that requires 300x zooming so you can barely read ?

Well I could care less nothing to hide, people who do should stop using computers, problems solved.
But someone going through the trouble to using TOR, why ? they want to be anonymous from what exactly ? If one is not doing anything illegal or hiding, why would they go to such extent..... There are valid reasons to hide online status on IM and social media, but let's see now....who is candidate for using such service ?  cyber criminals ? piracy ? sharing sites, etc? otherwise why would your average person just using the internet to relax, socialise etc....use such a thing ? If they bloody wanted privacy in the first place they should do something else

You can just use Tor. Tor hides who you are by routing your requests through several proxies. Also, the Tor Browser Bundle has a minimal fingerprint that isn't useful for unique identification.

lol that's extreme.   yeah, TOR, that is what many online scammers use, very popular - otherwise majority of the people who have nothing to hide will not.....it always me laugh some people want privacy this privacy that yet they sign up on every social media - kinda weird ! but anyhow, privacy does not exist anyway, just wait until the mandatory implanting of chips inside your body and its different orifices, then the concept of privacy goes down the toilet

People have the wrong idea on "ANONYMITY"

There is no such thing as having something to hide or hide....but an ILLUSION.

The hide your online presence on forums simply hides your presence from public view......

Administrators can still see you, your IP, even read edited / deleted posts.....What gets "deleted" online never actually gets deleted, and that holds true for forums.....
social media, etc.  I won't state the obvious reasons why it is like that.

There are however some genuine reasons why a person might not want to show their online presence, for the same reasons on IM they can opt to be seen as offline..... privacy, they only want to be seen by a circle of friends, and not be contacted by some random people.  There is a difference between that and anonymity.

That said going back to the topic, since the function has good use, perhaps it should stay, it only hides your online status.....that's about it,  there will always be people using features maliciously, does not mean the others should pay for it, especially when in majority of cases it is used for valid purposes.

When this happens you just need someone to send you a PM, happened to me before and I just had to wait for somebody to PM me. I PM'd you so that should fix it.

But something is still odd, it takes forever to save .... Before when you hit submit it would instantly submit.......even forum posting same shit, takes time for it to submit when it was instant before.
