Even when I log out I still see [u524] in the title of all my tickets. Is that just my user id? Why am I the only account that seems to have this?

What are all the required packages, (for the end user / gamer), that must be installed from the terminal in order to run a pre-built ENIGMA game on Linux, specifically for Ubuntu? (...or would it be the same regardless of the Linux distrobution?)

Thanks!

Issues Help Desk / CLI on Ubuntu?
« on: April 27, 2017, 08:14:37 PM »
Hey can anyone tell me how to compile a game with ENIGMA on Ubuntu using the CLI instead of using LGM? I ask because LGM crashes on my Ubuntu machine when I try to run/build, so I was hoping the CLI wouldn't do that. My computer's a dual boot with Windows via Wubi so there isn't much file/memory space on the Ubuntu side of things. Anyway that's probably why it's crashing. On Windows LGM doesn't crash using the same project file, so it's clear to me the issue is related to free disk space and Java, afaik...

Thanks.

General ENIGMA / Fun Fact: ENIGMA Can Make Windows Screen Savers
« on: April 17, 2017, 05:14:37 PM »
Interesting, just like GameMaker, ENIGMA can create screen savers for Windows.

Simply save your executable as a *.scr instead of an *.exe, or rename an existing ENIGMA game *.exe file extension to *.scr.

Which is cool, because not all *.exe files can be made into working screen savers.

Anyways, now you know.  :smileycat:

Third Party / Gmrename - Global Renaming Tool For Gm:S Projects
« on: March 15, 2016, 12:48:34 PM »
Quote
GMRename (Suggested by Samuel Venable)

Global Rename tool for GameMaker: Studio projects.

This tool can replace obj names, script names, sound names, sprites and variables throughout a project.

Example 1: Rename obj_a to obj_b
The tool will replace all occurrences of obj_a with obj_b. This includes the object name, object codes, scripts.

Example 2: Rename var_variable to var_roytheshort
Replaces all occurrences of the variable name with the new name.

NOTE! I did not have time to extensively test this. Please BACK UP your project folder, and use at your own risk. If something goes wrong, either revert to your backup or reverse the find+replace.

If you find a bug, please let me know either on this topic or PM me.

Download -> http://bit.ly/gmrename
Donations let me keep developing tools like this, for free.

Didn't know about this until long after I was banned, but hey! At least someone did it...

From Slammin Sam's original topic:
http://gmc.yoyogames.com/index.php?showtopic=621186

Really useful for combining multiple projects that may have variable or resource name conflicts.

Works in Progress / Flappy Wheels
« on: September 13, 2015, 09:43:00 PM »
Completed a new game recently, but ill post about that elsewhere when its live on anazon and the ouya discover menu.

Anyways, tried a crack at porting it to html5 and it was quite lovely to see it worked after several little inconsistency tweaks it had between the windows and android versions.

it was so lovely i published it on facebook:
https://apps.facebook.com/flappy-wheels/

did i mention the game is 3D? and runs faster than it does on my ouya in the desktop internet browser. Im pretty impressed by all this. I like where its heading. :)

seeing as its been a very long time since i last could get a single html5 port done flawlessly, pretty refreshed.

im banned over there can someone please post a topic list my yyg marketplace extensions at th gmc for me so people can be more aware my stuff actually exists? you might want to check with a mod first to see i this okay since everything i post are in the code/extension category and since wont be able to contact via that topic id like links to all my mp assets to be listed there under just that 1 topic. normally itd have to be topic per asset but in this case no one can really discuss a specific with me anyway bc i wont be able to respond to their feedback there. instead they can use my mp contact form for that. id like to know is doing this for me before im giving my permission you to post my content. it has to some i can trust and has been here active long enough *cough* rusky daspirit ism darkstar *cough*

heres a mockup to make things easy:
Quote

Samuel Venable wants to share his MP extention here bc their features are high in demand, he one of the only people there atm making everything of his free, open source, nearly public domain except with very few limitations, and the fact almost no one knows his stuff exist due being banned from the gmc for more than 2 years now, since before the MP existed. he gave me his exlusive permission to shar his MP content in this here topic specifically his GML and native code-based extensions.

His MP profile and asset listings:
https://marketplace.yoyogames.com/publishers/225/samuel-venable

he may post his music and other jank in the future so keep in mind this topic is about his CODE focussed assets so no graphics or anything else he may or may not share on the MP not related exclusively with code in mind.

atm you may want check out these when you get the chance, his existing code assets at the time of this post...

~Web Browser (Windows XP-8, Linux [to-do], Android [to-do])
~Embed Exe [Swf too] (Windows XP-8 [beta], Linux [maybe to-do])
~Window Styler [Adds all GM8.1 Window/Border Styles to GMS ] (Windows XP-8)
~Execute Shell [run/open exe or any other file type] (Windows XP-8, Linux [to-do], Android [to-do])
~3D Mouselook [GML] (Windows XP-8, Mac, Linux, Mobile/Consoles [Tweaking Required])
~Download File (Windows XP-8 [beta], Linux [to-do], Android [to-do])
~Set Display [Resolution and Bits] (Windows XP-8, Linux [to-do])

i made this all one topic bc if you have any questions, coments, bu reports, requests, etc related to a specific asset, due the actual author being banned and unable to respond here. instead please contact him by the email submission form found under his profile linked above earlier in this post. if it wsnt for that there would be a topic per asset to ensure discussion wont be going all over the place about multiple assets, which shouldnt be a problem under the circumstances. if you want to ask questions to existing owners of his assets to avoid confusion use PMs for that.

Sothis topic will actually have replies, not get burried, and still have a chance to get noticed simply after you have downloaed and tried an asset briefly mention that as your comment so views can know who to contact in pms for questions about a specific product in case they dont feel comfortable mailing the author for whatever reason. (Y)

PRETTY PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Samuel
