@TKG, that is awesome to have an unbiased comparison around, but I feel yours is not hard enough on them :P Also, take a look at some of the other Wiki pages to learn about creating articles, you can make links to other pages, for instance [[LateralGM]] would make a link like this... LateralGM

I have updated the Jar files with the latest version and the editor redesigns. Please update, also the sound editor can now actually play back WAV's and OGG's but not mp3, mp3 sucks anyway, convert to OGG. Also beware the undo/redo buttons for sprites and backgrounds are not working yet and neither is "Add Effects".

Josh, Ben, I thought I only implemented that UI temporarily though I thought I never made it do anything is what I meant because I was still thinking how I wanted it to look, but anyway glad it works. ^_^

Ben, you also do know there are native themes for LGM that don't make it look like garbage right? The default Swing one is grotesque.

... Ben, I don't know how you did that, but I thought I never added that functionality o_O for me the image editor just loads paint dot net.

Yes, I have revamped the background editor as well, now sound, sprites and background resources will display the current size of their resource data in memory. This is not the file size but likely the memory usage that would be used by your game at runtime, the filesize would be useless information, Studio just rounds it off mine is accurate and holds decimal places, Studio reports a 6.8MB sprite as only 6MB's. I will upload when I feel it is stable enough to release.

Now as for an image editor, there is already JEIE which is on Github when they started LGM's image editor, but I have no idea how to compile it, nor do I have any interest since LGM just opens the default system image editor which is my preference to open PaintDotNet which is free, and there is gimp for Linux and Mac, so really a 0 need for us to make an image editor or for me to waste my time with it, you can also do multiple selection and hit the edit button in my new sprite editor and it will open all the selected subimages for you in the operating system default editor.

Ben, as long as they don't have to go through multiple pages as in your saying just an easy way to embed the link to the pages? Ya that's fine.

Yes, that would be possible but a 1000x more work than just doing our various ports. We plan to do ports to Android and stuff but we need our new compiler finished first so that it can export using pretty printers to JavaScript/HTML5 etc.

1) No, languages can not be copyrighted and the Supreme Court has said so and will uphold this.
2) No, again Apple vs. Microsoft, you can't patent the look and feel of applications, the Supreme Court has said so
3) No, because it is just binary compression, it is un-copyrightable, hell if that were copyrightable, I don't know where the fuck the computer industry would be today, probably in the dark ages

Jeesus fuck, it was a typo in the GMK reader, supposed to be "Shaders" not "Shader" anyway, fixed.

Edit: In other news, the sprite editor is coming along...

Sprite editor revamp is nearly completed, I have uploaded the Jars and you can take it for a test run, be careful though Undo and Redo are not implemented yet.

You can also zoom in and out now.

Also, GIF images now load all subframes instead of just the first one and composites them correctly, GameMaker: Studio can't even handle importing the above GIF. You can also cut copy and paste sub images between sprites now as well as use multiple selection and deletion for subimages.

Harri, I was thinking of maybe some way to abstract the events was all, not suggesting implementing a counter when its never used.

AsherOS, we do have an XInput extension I wrote though, you can hook up and use your Xbox 360 controller if you have one, joysticks are also implemented, without extension on Linux but on Windows you enable DirectInput.

Well I love the idea so far, if I wasn't so busy I would definitely help out, I definitely want to play it if you get a demo out, so let me know!

Well neither Game Maker or ENIGMA provide this behavior by default. But you raise an interesting suggestion of something could be implemented. But for now just do as it would be done in Game Maker, eg. create a variable
Code: [Select]
mouse_left_clicks = 0; in the create event and everytime the mouse left button occurs or you check it with
Code: [Select]
mouse_check_button(mb_left); just do this
Code: [Select]
mouse_left_clicks += 1; and then...

Code: [Select]
if (mouse_check_button(mb_left) && mouse_left_clicks >= 2) {
  mouse_left_clicks = 0;
  // do stuff
}

But ya, like I said we should look at maybe how we could implement this to ENIGMA to make it easier.
