General ENIGMA / Re: Inheritance Fixes
« on: April 28, 2014, 04:37:13 AM »
Ok, so couple of questions. The inheritance did work correctly in your game though right? And was your game saved as an EGM? It probably never had the setting because it was a new setting, if you set it true and save again it should be set to true every time you load after that.

I'll fix that right away egofree, just click on any node in the tree so that it is selected and then hit save again. This was an existing bug in LGM I reported these negative model selections along time ago but just never fixed them all.

The patch was submitted in the following commit.

You can obtain the patched LateralGM from the Extra Packages page.

The new Portable ZIP is also available for download.

Programming Help / Re: function error

This might be a good time for me to ask Josh, will the following code work in ENIGMA right now?

Code: (EDL) [Select]
var ass = 4;
delete ass;

Programming Help / Re: Using C++ and GML in same project. Why?

It's not that far off really, you can already use proper data types, pointers, macros, and small structs.

Just make sure it all works properly before thanking me you guys.  ;D

Yes but back in the interpreted days Josh it was well known they were much faster at data sorting then doing it yourself, etc. People usually encouraged their use over arrays.

Box2D is not finished yet, just wait till I have time to add everything to the IDE.

Whoops looks like I overlooked key release and key press, I only fixed the regular key events, my mistake.

I have now fixed it, and you can download the new LGM from the Extra Packages page. I have also updated the Portable ZIP.

Programming Help / Re: Does ENIGMA support command-line args ?
« on: April 26, 2014, 11:15:42 PM »
Yes you'll have to parse the command line arguments yourself. And what do you mean show_mesage don't work? Look in ENIGMA settings and make sure Win32 widgets is set, it's working fine here.

You don't have to with a GMK. Also, Studio has GMZ, which is basically just a ZIP of your GMX, but that requires use of proprietary code that I don't want to add in LGM, plus, Studio has a set folder where all your projects are created, so you can't just save anywhere like you can with LGM. The closest I can get is the Right Click->New folder option in the save dialog, I don't know what to do though because people like you keep coming here and being confused by this.

Proposals / Re: Script starting values
« on: April 26, 2014, 04:59:20 PM »
We've had this suggestion before but nobody has any ideas on how to do it, and we are a little pressed for time.

Where are the other files? This is only the main file? You probably didn't create a directory when you saved the game, people continue to make this mistake. When you save with the GMX format you have to create a folder and save the game in that folder, since LGM unlike Studio lets you save the projects anywhere you like.

That is a known bug of the Library Maker, place the jar directly next to lateralgm.jar, it needs JoshEdit in its class path.
