Howdy !
I'm trying to install Enigma on Fedora 20, 'cause I juste have a new computer where I installed Fedora 20 (yup yup really cool). Well, it's pretty difficult for me to do it. I had many errors that I was able to solve, but not this time so I ask your help !
What's the problem ? When I launch Enigma, it says : "ERROR: Invalid search directories returned. Start search string does not match a line.".
What I have already done ? - Install Enigma with the Git Repository
- Install theses dependencies : gcc-c++ zlib-devel mesa-libGLU-devel alure-devel libvorbis-devel dumb-devel binutils-c6x-linux-gnu gcc-c++.i686 zlib-devel.i686 mesa-libGLU-devel.i686 alure-devel.i686 libvorbis-devel.i686 dumb-devel.i686 binutils-c6x-linux-gnu.i686
- + Theses dependencies : mingw32-\* mingw64-\* arm-gp2x-linux-gcc
- Install Java JRE with the Official Website of Oracle.
A path to resolve this ? Probably forgotten some dependencies or doing something wrong. Thanks, I need your help. If I can give more info about my problem ask me, I don't know what to add for the moment. See ya.

Where exactly did you install ENIGMA to, the file path I mean? This is really odd I've never encountered this message before, but it seems pretty straight forward, likely just a minor mistake somewhere along the way in the setup process. Have you successfully built for another Linux distro yet? I've built and maintain an Ubuntu setup. Also did you install python and run python install.py in enigma-dev? This is obviously the Linux install page: http://enigma-dev.org/docs/Wiki/Install:LinuxAnd information on checking out the repo: http://enigma-dev.org/docs/Wiki/Install:GitI also started the following page of troubleshooting common issues but Linux and Mac don't have as many suggestions as Windows: http://enigma-dev.org/docs/Wiki/Troubleshoot

I think it was Leonardo da Vinci who once said something along the lines of "If you build the robots, they will make games." or something to that effect.

Howdy. I've surely no luck if you didn't see this error before. Nope it's my first install in a Linux distro, and I would keep Fedora. I've forgotten to say : Enigma starts after this error but only the Buil/Compile bar is grey. I installed Enigma in /home/supernova/Documents/enigma-dev with the Git Repo. Yes, I've installed Python and ran this command line without error I think.
Well, I didn't check the "Troubleshooting" page this time, thanks I will test this after a breakfast and a shower. See ya.
EDIT : Now the Compilation/Build menu isn't grey anymore, but when I try to compile a simple game (1 room, 1 object) and I've this error : fatal error: stropts.h : Any folder or file with this name. #include <stropts.h>. I've made some searches and see that stropts.h seems to be unavailable in Fedora 20, right ? Any solution ?

Does stropts exist anywhere else? Maybe it came prepacked with Fedora and that's why it's not showing up in the right location.

Howdy. As I understand it's probably not my fault right ? I hope you will find an alternative for all Fedora users. I would like to dev in Fedora but I can wait and test for you if you need.
Thank you. See ya.

Hi there, I've pushed a commit that removes the affected lines from the repository. You should be able to build, now, after you update ( git pull). The only file which depended on stropts was the Linux Joystick API. I was basically being pedantic and making sure I wasn't passed partial data, which the API should already be doing. The Linux joystick driver is ancient and venerable and lacks support for a lot of modern features, but it isn't so bad it'll send us garbage. Anyone who is so inclined can test out Linux joysticks using this test game. Cheers
