General ENIGMA / New theme, anyone?
« on: June 08, 2008, 02:39:05 am »
I'm planning to create a new theme, somewhat like this (with a standard forum/topic view though), mainly because the current one is kind-of broken, and it doesn't seem to work too well.
Post your thoughts here, and if you have suggestions about another theme I should try to be inspired by, post here.
Just for the love of god don't post anything ridiculously detailed ¬_¬...
I'm going after something minimalistic, and of course it has to fit in with the site theme...
CORRECTION: I'm referring to the forum theme.

Announcements / Site-wide logins
« on: April 19, 2008, 03:03:02 am »
You may have noticed in the top-right corner of the header, there's some user info. That's right, I'm attempting to have a global login for the site.
Once the project is done, EDC and the forum will share the same memberlist (using the forum member IDs), which also means the bugtracker will actually use the site ID.
If you have any comments, put them in the feedback board.
Enjoy ^_^

With a little luck, this'll be followed by a merging of the community and the forums, then release three.

Announcements / Bugtracker registration
« on: April 15, 2008, 07:02:02 pm »
Funny why nobody bothered to put up a bug report here.
Anyway, I've deleted all the accounts, and fixed the registration problem (hopefully).
Joshedit
Still allowed to hijack newsposts.
<-- This is why this isn't the first result for "ENIGMA C++" or "ENIGMA GML" on Google. It's also why there's a month between each cache update.
mitchedit
We decided to dump mantis after all. It's a pain to use, not to mention yet another registration for our poor visitors :(
Well, anyway... the new one is integrated into the community to thus simplify things; plus registration is not required to report bugs. Don't hesitate to use it!
a2hedit
I didn't decide on choosing to dump Mantis, but whatever. Time to integrate the bugtracker and add CAPTCHA now...
a2hedit2
Integrated! Just note that the EDC bugtracker uses the same storage location and mitch works on it; the bugtracker accessed via the main site is just a different front-end done by me. Captcha coming soon, and redoing the layout slightly later.

A new naming system. Because Josh wants his own version system.
Anyway, yeah, it's out.
Josh will update this post when he wakes up.

Announcements / URLs and download section
« on: April 13, 2008, 04:30:25 am »
The news post lover strikes again!
Anyway, you may have noticed that the site's sections now apparently are normal htm files. Yeah, htaccess is a beautiful thing.
This should make URLs a bit cleaner. Enjoy.
Also, download section redone. Should be much more cleaner.
a2hedit3:
Menu border is no longer black. Yay.

Let's stick to a standard version naming system, shall we?
ENIGMA alpha 1 revision 1 has been released to ludamad in the form of a patch. He has posted it on 64Digits.
I have uploaded the patch here as well.
Go ahead and download if you don't already have it.
Joshedit:
You're just all kinds of helpful, aren't you? :3
I thought I was gonna have to do that just now, but looks like you saved me the trouble. ^_^
Thanks to Luda, my official patch tester.
From now on, all updates you get from us will be delivered like this. I will update the actual downloads every official release period.
Since ENIGMA is compiled, you will be able to download a <200KB set of source files for, ie, a bug fix or set of functions.

General ENIGMA / Shiny header
« on: April 05, 2008, 11:00:12 pm »
Was not designed by me.
Discuss whether you like it or not.
To me, it turned out to be not as bad as I thought it would, but the black border at the bottom of the menu imo needs to be more subtle, look at how bad it mixes with the white background, and it also looks bad with the submenu, look, a 2px black border!

Announcements / SMF 2.0 upgrade
« on: March 20, 2008, 09:15:47 pm »But trust me, by "soon" I'm not talking in Valve Time.
As for when it will be open, I will leave that up to Josh to decide.
After a staff discussion, I'm just going to make an IPB style theme for SMF. kthxbai
Joshedit:
I can hijack the end of a newspost if I like. Anyway, this is totally just to remind me that as it turns out, I need to add a semicolon to the parser following conversion from "until ()" to "while (!())". Also, ' "+" '.
While I'm ranting to the news bulletin, I may aswell remind myself that those string functions suck and should be redone before the release, along with the horrible lack of operators for var.
Thanks for reading, you've been a great audience.
