Issues Help Desk / [Linux] Current build will not display correctly for OpenGL3.
« on: June 22, 2014, 07:51:51 am »
So, I have a project that compiles as expected with OpenGL 1.1. OpenGL 3, however, displays nothing. The graphic elements seem to be there, but they're not displaying at all.
Is anyone else having issues like this?

Off-Topic / Unity in trouble? UE4 and CRYENGINE doing something special!
« on: March 20, 2014, 06:07:45 pm »
https://www.unrealengine.com/ - UE4 for $20 (€20) a month subscription, 5% royalties, source code access. For certain sizes and types of games, this could make it a much more attractive proposition than Unity (at least $75/month subs, at least $1500 to purchase a full license).
And then http://www.cryengine.com/news/crytek-announces-its-cryengine-as-a-service-program - $9.90 a month apparently royalty-free, but this seems to have vaguer terms than for UE4.
Interesting times, interesting times.

Issues Help Desk / Issues with colours displaying incorrectly.

As the filename says - what should be red is in blue. And yes, other projects display this issue (for example, Catch the Clown).
Using Linux, latest LGM and ENIGMA as according to the repos, OpenGL 3.

Off-Topic / MonoGame being forked?

http://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/ethan-lee-othwerwise-known-as-flibitijibibo-proposes-a-full-fork-of-monogame.3087
Apparently someone wants to take the MonoGame framework and make their own fork based on it. As a "preservation of XNA", it seems. Could be interesting.

Off-Topic / Waiting for Godot?
« on: February 09, 2014, 09:53:28 am »
So, some guys from South America - http://okamstudio.com/ - have (almost) released their internal development engine - Godot - to the public.
http://www.godotengine.org/
I say almost, because there's no download option on the main site yet. There still is on the old Wiki though - http://www.godotengine.org/wiki/doku.php - but no Linux 32 bit edition (yet). Says it supports 2D and 3D etc. And extendible via plug-ins. Looks worth a shot.

Issues Help Desk / [Win32 XP] Makefile:119: *** mixed implicit and normal rules. Stop.
« on: January 05, 2014, 07:56:27 am »
Related to http://enigma-dev.org/forums/index.php?topic=1654.0 and http://enigma-dev.org/forums/index.php?topic=1689.0 I'd imagine.
As per the subject line, running ENIGMA (as of the latest Git revision) on my XP box is falling over with this message. The workdir "fix" is not applied (I did try it, though - no difference); by default it puts everything in the "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\ENIGMA" directory (ENIGMA itself being installed elsewhere).
This is all that is in enigma_compile.log:

Issues Help Desk / Misadventures in converting a GM:S project...
« on: December 31, 2013, 12:43:57 pm »
As of the most recent Git revision.
I know it's not a particularly good idea, but I've tried anyway - I've taken a GM:S project I've started and imported it into ENIGMA. Set it to using OpenGL 1.1, OpenAL (Linux).
First thing first, that it reported stream reading errors twice. Some objects lost the sprites, scripts etc. they were using - that's fairly easy to fix thankfully. Sounds needed setting to "Normal sound" or background sound, but again an easy fix. Compiling, however produces errors, which can be found at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/67740160/enigma_compile.log - any advice? https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/67740160/ChrismasCrapFest.egm is the project so far.
Thanks.

Issues Help Desk / [Win32] Call to 'defines' toolchain executable returned non-zero!
« on: December 11, 2013, 03:11:01 pm »
As per the subject line, I'm getting this message crop up every time I start up LateralGM/ENIGMA, and I can't build or anything (and the menu has "Busy" on the top, with the whole Build menu greyed out). Clean re-install, everything I could find of the older version removed.
Any advice?

Issues Help Desk / Issues with scrolling logos and transitioning from rooms.

What this is supposed to do is:
It works right up to the creation of the title instance, but it then does not scroll down. Bizarrely, it does if you do not go to rm_Logo (i.e., jump straight to rm_TitleScreen from rm_Initer's creation code). Am I running into a bug somewhere, or is it something really dumb I'm doing (I'm a GM newbie, even if I have experience with other programming languages) I haven't realised?
Thanks.
[EDIT: Bit late now, but next time I'll also try to remember to say what OS I was trying this under - Linux.]
What this is supposed to do is:
- rm_Initer sets stuff up in its creation code, then
- It calls rm_Logo, which creates an instance of obj_SslaxxWorks, which creates an alarm, which when counted down
- Calls rm_TitleScreen, which will then create and scroll down the title (from just off-screen)

Issues Help Desk / Possible dumb Qs: OpenGL 1.1 and Windows, and the .ini module.
« on: November 27, 2013, 05:03:28 pm »
Is the OpenGL 1.1 module supposed to work with Win32? Because I've tried to compile using it, and am getting errors about it missing X11 libraries (XLib to be exact). OpenGL 3.0 works fine, though.
And the .ini module - not compiling under Windows. Is it not supposed to? What would be nice, if it isn't, is if there could be support to disable selective modules (like this one, or the MCI CD commands) under OSes that don't need (or support) such extensions.
