Was that Extreme3D? If it wasn't, then there's another one.

There is also an Irrlicht wrapper, which can use GL.

Extreme3D may be GL (I seem to recall that it was). I remember it being insanely difficult to use due to lack of good documentation. Maybe it was just me, though. It struck me as the most impressive of all of them... I should look into it. But no, that's not the one I was talking about.

I'm almost positive it uses DX.

And now I looked it up, and am 100% positive.
Yep, DX 8.1 to be precise, and no OpenGL at all, unfortunately.

Also, there's a new beast around, this Ogre wrapper...struggling to get OpenGL to work
