On their new website layout released today, they said something that I find to be both completely ridiculous and hilarious. And I quote: with the new YYC GameMaker Studio's games run 100x faster What are they, 12? That has got to be most idiotic exaggeration I've ever heard. And what also strikes me as hilarious, I visited the release notes for studio to download an older version that is without the YYC because the YYC is actually (at least) 5-10 times slower than the original interpretor they used. My 3D game ran just fine on android before they YYC came along, now my game is so slow its not even playable it ran at like 5 FPS. The YYC is a freaking joke. I'm not even kidding. YYG are really starting to piss me off. They love to lie to their customers. First they promised GM9 targeted towards hobbyists who couldn't afford studio then they go tell that same audiance that studio *is* gm9 which obviously contradicts with their promise. And Russell lied about how YYG was "not" planning on adding an XBox360 module, which is another lie. I used a software called OllyDebug on GameMaker Studio and it picked up all the exports they were planning and as plain as the nose on my face XBox 360 was listed, Mike Dailly and all those other morons can't get mad at me now for calling them liars, because I caught them red handed just like I knew I would. Idiots, like no joke, these guys are very stupid. Do they think we are stupid? Because it doesn't take an idiot to figure out they are liars. YYG are completely oblivious. End of story. TKG

You do realize you don't have to use the YYC even with the latest version of GM? Here I'll help you out cause you seem a little brain damaged: http://i.imgur.com/rWyghE6.pngI used a software called OllyDebug on GameMaker Studio and it picked up all the exports they were planning and as plain as the nose on my face XBox 360 was listed, Mike Dailly and all those other morons can't get mad at me now for calling them liars, because I caught them red handed just like I knew I would. There could be any number of reasons for this. I wouldn't be surprised if they had played around with xbox support in the past, but that doesn't make them liars for denying that they planned an xbox export. You need to chill the hell out. In regards to the speed of the YYC, I'd have to say TheExDeus is right there. For my personal projects, I have seen FPS improvements in all of them with YYC, but most of the time it's not extremely substantial. Like any company, YYG will only provide you with their best-case scenarios to try to move more units. Business, baby.

Hello there, i have some problems:
jaimec, on 27 Aug 2013 - 13:51, said: The YoYo Compiler The YoYo Compiler unlocks new possibilities in CPU-intensive areas such as artificial intelligence, procedural techniques, real time lighting, enhanced physics, real time geometry deformation, collision and data manipulation, immensely raising the quality bar. The YoYo Compiler is free for customers of GameMaker: Studio Master Collection and is otherwise available as an add-on priced at $299.
I can't see the YoYo Compiler in my steam Master Collection version of GMS. After the steam update to 1.2 i can't see the new modules added in the target list: iOS(YYC), Android(YYC), and Windows(YYC). In the help menu -> About Game Maker i find that the version number is: 1.2.1130 (r27319) but i can't see YYC compiler in the modules window. May you help me? Has someone else the same problem? Thank you, Vittorio. http://gmc.yoyogames.com/index.php?showtopic=592586@Daz insulting me because you don't understand what happened only proves your head injuries. When I posted this topic FYI, there were licensing issues that I wasn't aware of at first and Studio only showed the non yyc targets but I assumed that because I didn't see any "(YYC)" on the drop down that they replaced the interpreted targets with the YYC ones. This was a bug I saw complaints on the GMC with users who also faced this issue. Long story short they fixed this bug since I posted this topic and you can stop being an ignorant lard. God damned idiot, I swear. LOL. @everyone besides Daz, this was not directed at you. :-)

YYG cheated in their commercial games. To make their own games faster and better, they made functions for GM specifically for their games and, of course, locked those functions out of GM. Legally, "made with GM" is correct, but morally, everyone knows it's just plain wrong.
There is also a whole bunch of crap that very very few people know what YYG inputs into your games too. YYG puts analytics into your games. They know who compiled it and whose playing it. I know that they have this in their HTML5 port. I recall seeing a message earlier that YYG knows if you cracked GM or not. I see this as a problem for people who obtained the application legally. I don't want that to be in my games.
And finally, the part about YYG not listening to anyone. They barely fix any bugs. They do nothing to improve the customer experience. They just add more exports and such so more people spend more money. I filed a surface bug report last year, still not fixed. I had to quit my game. Compare that to ENIGMA, who fixes everything rapidly.

That's interesting, so it puts like a hash of your license or something in the compiled applications? And finally, the part about YYG not listening to anyone. They barely fix any bugs. This is the one thing that really irritates me. For instance, their default naming convention for Windows Phone 8 is GameName-1.0.0.xap. That shouldn't be a problem right? You can tell what version it is from a glance. Except the hyphen causes the game to crash when deployed to the phone, although it works fine in the simulator. I notified them as soon as I figured out what the hell was going on, and here we are months later with not a change in the default naming scheme in sight.

Harri, but thats just it they aren't seeling Game Maker. I've discussed this before and DaSpirit kind of touched on it as well, their business model works like a pyramid scheme. Basically back when they launched the sandbox they had a huge influx of new game maker users and customers and it was flooded with crap, those numbers started to dwindled and eventually collapsed to its current user base which was not enough for YYG's sustainability in profits/etc. So they came up with the garbage they are selling now with very similar schemes in selling the product.
DaSpirit there makes another excellent point as well, one could also make a false advertising claim against them.
Daz, from what I heard they are straight up tracking everything its full of spyware.

No, Harri, I mean they were talking about that a while ago, I think it was on True Valhalla's Game Maker blog too, they were like just recently hurting for profits or something.
