hello!
that is indeed a strange problem. if it builds successfully, it should by all means compiled. I can only suggest trying updating from your mysys folder the compiler

Issues Help Desk / Re: Compile error after adding sprite
« on: March 02, 2019, 08:27:22 am »
hi there and welcome!
based on the code.....it seems that
based on the code.....it seems that
- you have some duplicate names for your resources. these could either be sprite and object having the same names. its best to have a prefix for all the resources followed by its name to distinguish them. eg... [spr_dog as a sprite] and [obj_dog] as an object.
- if this is a GM file you're trying to import into Enigma, please note that not all "GM functions" will work in Enigma. ENIGMA enables most of GM6 up to GMS 1.2 projects to work. Best are GM8 in my honest opinion.
- you could check your scripts code for any irregularities in the function names
- check the Extensions sections of the Configuration dialog and see if all the required extensions are present and activated.

A Linux Debian package has been upload to my itch.io page. Its only for 64bit versions however. It will install the game to the '/opt/' directory and create a application shortcut to your menu. Somehow the customized icon didn't get installed. Not sure why. However you can get it from the same '/opt/Myst_Mansion' directory' on your computer, in case you want to edit the launcher file.

I'll be honest with you, i don't know that much about them, but based on what i have read, it seems to be really difficult to create but they do produce fantastic effects when working.
Even so, as they are associated with surfaces, which is a something I do know of and have had working, i'll have a try at it.
It may take a while so continue checking here for any progress reports.

Mystery Mansion is a puzzle adventure game where you, the player, must solve a series of rooms and collect the treasures. You must also avoid traps and monsters as they try to twart your progress.
Use your puzzle solving skills to move your character to cover the markers, getting the blue door key to open the treasure room. When you've collected all of them, you will get the exit key to leave the room. Solve all the rooms to get the biggest treasure of all.
The Windows version has limited sound effects as it is in beta.
Others versions for Mac and Linux will also be published later.
This Windows version was created from scratch in ENIGMA and it has taken a long time....as least in my opinion to complete. i will soon start to work on the Linux and Mac versions.
you can download the Windows beta version on the EDC. Please comment.
If you did enjoy this game then please consider supporting my Itch.io page. Check it out for more games and also for news on other developments.

Thanks 2 Protolink and Goombert for beta testing my game.
They've made some cool suggestions I am implementing in the game......so its going to be delayed for a few more days.
I've added a fog effect in the splash intro and some blood effect. I'm also working on some footprint sprites for the character when he moves around.

Mystery Mansion for Windows is just about finished. Been having some sound issues which was giving me hell.
Turns out that my samples been crashing the game and its been difficult to figure that out. But i've nailed it down to 2 reasons.......the sizes and sample rate. so i've got to re-sample them all and hopefully, hopefully it will work out better.

Works in Progress / Mystery Mansion
« on: January 04, 2019, 10:11:24 am »Mystery Mansion is a puzzle Adventure game where you must solve the puzzles in the rooms in order to gain the full inheritance of your dead Uncle.
You control your character using the arrow keys on your keyboard. To solve the room you must place the barrels into there respective places, where you will get a room key. Open the doors with the room key, gather all the treasure and you will get the exit key. Use the exit key to then go on to the next levels.
Avoid the monsters and traps or you will lose a life. Press 'R' to Restart the room will also lose a life.
There are some bonus items and extra lives to get as you go through the levels
A demo should come out before month-end. Until then please enjoy the screenshots.

General ENIGMA / Great News for the NEW YEAR
« on: December 31, 2018, 10:35:29 pm »
as we come to a close this year and start to embark on a new one, great strides have been made involving ENIGMA by the developers and other helpers.
First a massive shout out and thanks to Josh dreamland who was able to fix the EDC in time for the NEW YEAR celebrations 2019. As always, to Goombert and gfundies for their tireless and strong determination to creating RGM, creating a fork for Android and Mac. they have suspended the Android fork now as their focus is on having a working RGM beta in 2019.
i also have to mention Sam Venable for his work on the Joystick functions and TFD which Linux users like myself can really take advantage of the Dialog functions.
Special mention goes to Protolink whose Youtube channel has some very good tutorials/videos on using ENIGMA. One should check them out and please support the channel by subscribing.
Great strides have been made this year for ENIGMA with its membership slowly increasing. Issues have been fixed, functions updated and new extensions added.
As for me, I've been busy working on an offline Manual for ENIGMA. I've got a segment done which outlines all of ENIGMA EDL functions. You can download it from here. It was created to work offline for users who may not have Internet. For those who do have Internet, you can use all the online features without having to open a browser. Working on more tutorials and games are part of my resolutions for the new year. i also intend to do more videos for my channel as Protolink does on his.
guess that all there's is to say except
Many Blessings to all and Have a Happy and Prosperous New Year! from me to you Peace and Happiness
