Off-Topic / Re: What does ENIGMA stand for?
« on: November 22, 2009, 12:56:31 am »Actually, it's mentioned on their "About" page. But can anyone explain what does it actually mean? I don't understand that.I'm not sure about the E or A, but the NI is a dig at Game Maker and how it interprets code on-the-fly instead of pre-compiling it.

How the hell did this guy get past reCAPTCHA?
Though, apparently some spammers are paying people to manually register and spam.

« on: October 27, 2009, 11:32:32 pm »I don't think this is a good time to make such a recommendation...QuoteIn ENIGMA, the only point to having them is because people are set in their 39Dll-loving ways.Or because it's easier to copy and paste GML that somebody already made instead of manually handling the function pointers.
Though, I think that reason has nothing to do with the reason that somebody originally gave.
Anyhow, I checked with my 'superiors,' and it looks like the Game Design Club will be using Enigma at some point over here!

That is aimed at index.php, and the only thing I can think of it trying to achieve is hoping to cause some error.
Who cares now with reCAPTCHA. The bans will be reserved for dumb people ^_^

Off-Topic / Re: They killed GNOME
« on: October 05, 2009, 06:28:24 pm »- Well the card ran, but it didn't run 3D games since there's no AMD supplied driver. AMD drops support for their cards sooner (my card is also dropped on Linux but still supported by the open driver so it's OK.)Vista drivers work, and if you're lucky enough XP drivers work (as an experiment I installed 7 on a laptop with an S3 Twister video card, guess how old that is)
ALSO,
The guy who ruined Vista likes music. And he looks like a pedo in that album art, I swear.

« on: October 04, 2009, 09:18:44 pm »Yes. Tried the Win7 beta for 6 months, and the only changes they made that affected me were the ribbon-ised Paint, ribbon-ised Movie Maker, the removal of the Classic view of the Control Panel and the horrible horrible taskbar. All of which I dislike. Meanwhile they dropped support for my graphics card [it was only 2 and a half years since they released it, it's not fair].score_under, gimme that shotgun >:C
Vista isn't bad, it only BSODs and requires a reinstall once a year. While I do prefer Ubuntu both philosophically and user interface wise, Vista has four things Linux doesn't: Paint, Game Maker, fast search and Flash that doesn't use 100% CPU.
1. Movie Maker - copy it over from Vista
2. Control Panel - It's called switching view mode
3. The taskbar can be changed to the old style (mostly, you'll just still have same applications grouped)
4. One of my computers running W7 has a NVIDIA 5000 series card

General ENIGMA / Re: Enigma IDE (written in C++ using wxWidgets)
« on: October 03, 2009, 06:24:56 am »Well I haven't gotten much done yet, however I have created a Source Forge page for it (nothing in the SVN yet)It's not official, so I'd say you should add a note about that.
