Hello Jhasper!
In order to better assist we will need some additional information from you.
* Is this the first time you've used ENIGMA or LateralGM before? * Do you have administrative privileges on your account? * Could you attempt to run LateralGM/ENIGMA with administrative privileges and see if the error is corrected? * How did you attempt to open ENIGMA through enigma.exe or through double clicking the LateralGM jar file? I see you also attempted to start LateralGM from the command line, this will only work when you use LateralGM separately from ENIGMA. If you want to use LateralGM without compiling games feel free to move the jar file somewhere else on your computer.

I think it was Leonardo da Vinci who once said something along the lines of "If you build the robots, they will make games." or something to that effect.

Are you by chance running this in a virtual machine? I ask because the problem is related to the following: x80000002. Windows RegCreateKeyEx(...) returned error code 5. I've never actually seen this before but this probably 100% an issue with your Java installation because it's not able to create the preferences file in the system registry. That's not our doing because the Java preferences API is a public API that makes it easy to implement preferences and actually abstracts/hides the system registry from you and uses INI files on Linux and Mac. So this basically suggests that it's the lack of privileges for modifying the system registry. Have you by chance modified the security profiles of your Java installation in any way? Is there anything atypical about your Java installation or computer configuration? Also the log suggests you are running Windows 7, is this true? Or do you happen to be running Windows 7 in a virtual machine? Edit: A quick Google search indicates that this could just be a problem with your computer. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/google-web-toolkit/LQfsBSwD_ugAs I mentioned it seems to be the result of lack of proper privileges to run the program.

Ok, can you tell me where the following file is coming from? C:\Users\Leandro\Documents\Game Project\shotgun_funfun_online_gm81.gmk
Have you opened LateralGM at least once and opened that file before at some point in the past? Or are you trying to load it from the command line?

From what I understand, the ENIGMA need administrator privileges to create a registry key in Windows, the "recent files" should be saved in this LGM registry key. So the "recent files" is saved in the Windows registry key that the LGM creates when opened, I'll look and try to delete this registry key with the command "regedit", if you tell me the name of the registry key of the LGM much easier for me. @Edit: I managed to fix it, I deleted the registry key, and opened correctly, I was in the records of Windows, with the command "regedit", I went to the folder (HKEY_CURRENTE_USER > Software > JavaSoft > Prefs > org > enigma or lateralgm) and deleted the folder, managed to open the ENIGMA correctly without error, thanks for the help!

My apologies I did not see this right away. That is extremely useful Jhasper I was wondering where this bug was coming from before. I had the same issue myself with the recent files and couldn't remember how it started. Now I have a way to reproduce it hopefully. I will likely be able to get this fixed in the upcoming LateralGM release I want to make within the next few months.

Ok I've done some additional testing. I am not able to reproduce this in any LGM version that is newer than LGM16b4. I even recreated your exact file path and LGM loaded it fine from the CMD line and it was exactly the same when I loaded it with enigma.exe https://github.com/IsmAvatar/LateralGM/issues/225Have you ever used an older version of LateralGM before at all? I need to know specifically if this is still your first time using ENIGMA/LGM or you've downloaded and accessed the older versions before.

It affects only the latest versions, when I was with this bug I tested older versions and open normally, but first of all I used the recent version, just started using older versions after the error, also tested the LGM16b4 version and not work properly, but previous versions work normally ... Yes, I've used the ENIGMA before, and tested it on 2 computers the same file, and both showed the error ...
This must be a registry error on Windows, ENIGMA creates a registry key in the Windows for recent file, but when you try to access it again, presents this error ...
