General ENIGMA / Re: NaturalGM Object Editor

I do still want my code to be a code box (or the possibility for it to be it), as I often times hold several action code boxes side by side. Like having the Create event code open while coding Draw just to see the variable names. But I like the idea of seeing the code for the event without opening the event. I guess that's the idea and the coding itself is still done in a separate box.

I doubt there is a way to pass something in GL without z. Everything in GL (even huds in games) is always in 3D as that is a 3D API. I also don't think there is that much overhead in sending z to the GPU. Especially if you send it only once when sending the whole VBO. And GPU does all the calculations on all 3 dimensions, so I think it would be even slower for it if it had special functions for 2D.

Well I don't see what features shouldn't be added to official LGM. All of the things he added and fixed have been a problem for a VERY long time. As LGM seemed abandoned for almost two years I welcome his activity. While I agree that some things he possibly adds could of be added differently (I don't use Java and haven't looked at the code), but the features themselves were really needed.
So I don't see any reason for his fork not to be official distribution with ENIGMA.

Giving a choice is usually a good option as well. But for now putting them in temp seems the best solution.

While 2) seems the best way it also could be the most confusing to noobs. They will see all those files with the game.exe or game.egm and never figure out why they are there. This would prompt things like packing game.egm+all obj. in a zip just to share the source. On the other hand it would be the most practical way to do it.

Nice, though the auto-complete bug is still there. And double click on event doesn't open code editor on win7.

I have never timed out during posting. When you log in you can set how long to be logged in. I check forever and so I don't log out for weeks (even on several PC's).

Proposals / Re: Manual, the Button

1) The wiki can be made into a searchable pdf (as it can be parsed however you want).
2) One way is to somehow show html (from the wiki) for a specific function when asked. Like when using auto-correct it would show a brief description and all the arguments. Then you can press another button (or use the mouse) to open the function in the wiki.
3) I think we shouldn't even maintain the wiki the current way, but start adding doxygen comments in headers (like in some Robert has done). This way we could parse and make an a html version (and possibly populate the current wiki as well) and we could generate structured pdf for offline use. This way we wouldn't have to maintain the wiki, but only the code.

I once made a mixer in ENIGMA using the FMOD sound system. It's quite powerful, so you should be able to create anything you need in there.

Actually quite correct. There is no real distinction, as I (and many others in GM) have used models just for fast 2d drawing. Can't remember if you can query data from a GL model, so it would be harder to make a function that turns the model into physics mesh. Aren't models a class in ENIGMA?

Maybe you could fix that god forsaken script editor bug as well. Image explaining the bug is here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21117924/lgm_bug.png
What it does is remove any use for the auto-complete function when your script is longer than a few lines.
edit: I guess I will explain a little further.
When your script is 100 lines, then scrolling down 20 lines (so the first line number is 20) and showing the auto-complete box the box will be 20 lines above the selected line (where it should be). The bug should be easy to fix by adding one number, but I don't want to learn how to Java right now, so I can't be bothered (and apparently no one else can, as the bug is ages old and I have informed everyone about it).

But that is what Josh wants as well. So when you argued with him you already failed. Though the arguing was more about the PHYSICS and POLYGON functions. So basically, if the physics mesh from polygon function should be under physics or polygon. Josh and I argue that it should be under physics.
And we know how our graphics system works.

I'll wait then. Wanted the theme thing for ages though. Happy that someone got around doing it.

You are not understanding AT ALL what he means. We don't care what the second or the third word is in the function. We care what the FIRST word is. The point is that the function name is: "PHYSICS_some_long_shit_noone_cares_about();" instead of "POLYGON_some_another_long_stuff()". The same with drawing. The point is not whether its "d3d_model_draw()" or "d3d_draw_model()", but that it's NOT "POLYGON_draw()".
So again, he was correct on both accounts, you just seem slow at the moment.
