Our resident webadmin, sirmxe, has finally gotten his personal matters together long enough to log into server, uninstall and then reinstall the exim mail service, and then log back out (hopefully).

That said, the mail server works now, and some of you may or may not have suddenly got a few emails from it that it still had on queue.

It looks fine. It's in the lighter half where you can read it better. I'd just like it to be up against the user info bit, which seems to have moved to the next bar down in the forums but been corrected on the home page.

Wait, so the scrolling text is part of the mail server? Weird...

I also think it should be centered. You will be able to see it just fine. The text color is either identical or very close to the link color, and you can see them just fine as well. It doesn't work well with resizing though. On my screen (1280 wide) the ticker is on top of the user info bit. If you resize the window then it also goes out of the page.

edit: Also, why the hell we even need that. It will only show old depressing news anyway. For example, the LGM update it boasts about right now is 2 months old. It would just give the right (sadly) impression that nothing is really happening. The date it gives is wrong though (as it shows April 4, not Feb 19).

Gary reporting finally and actually having some amount of action on this forum.

Problem with the layout is mostly because I didn't bother to make it fluid at all, it's just a feature to try out for now. And, most features that you add to services aren't something that are needed; it's something that is either transformative/practical, or in the very least, novel. And, if you ask me, I'd say it's at least somewhat novel, and rather practical. The reason it's showing as an old one is because I had Ism send through a test commit, which probably just resulted in sending the test commit via github instead of an actual one, and the date on it is determined by when the git commit hook is called. So, the date on it may be wrong but it won't be wrong AS SOON AS SOMEONE MAKES ANOTHER COMMIT.

Though: " IsmAvatar authored 2 days ago"
hm. two days ago seems to be the 5th. Either way, it doesn't really matter. If it's really determined to be that noisome, then I can easily remove it.
