I'm thinking https://help.tenderapp.com/faqs/customization/priorities makes a good point.

Perhaps let's just offer a way to differentiate bugs and non-bugs? (0 severity and 1-5 respectively)

I just wanted to be able to edit the severity rating myself. I never intended for the user to even have a say in it, but it came out that the user is the only person that ever has a say in it, but I figured it'd work until you added an edit capability.

I'm not actually interested in a hidden priority list, but if you think it'd help others who would use Spray, by all means, add it.

Yeah, one way is to keep the severity rating, but removing the user possibility to set it.

I was going to let them set it, but make it really easy for an admin to edit. I told a2h from square one that everyone will either neglect to choose a rating or give their own urgent status. At this juncture we see less people thinking their problem is urgent, and more who either don't set the severity past "suggestion" or don't realize that their issue is in fact much more severe than they can actually tell.

Think it will be better not to let people set it themselves.

Priority lists are useful for developers, not for ticket posters, I believe it should be the devs decision on which are more important to fix than others and be able to sort them accordingly. In other words I believe severity should be internal only.

I disagree.  Priority shows a user when their problem will be fixed.

Aren't you agreeing then? The developers can set the ticket priorities so that users will know when their problem is fixed.
I agree with the OP.  I disagreed with the post before mine.

Sorry for not being specific.
