Thanks Robert! I really really appreciate the announcement and review of my game.
It's pretty cool that you enjoyed it even though it isn't your genre of choice.
I don't know what you mean by:
All I did was room_restart(), it's not all that difficult. Do you mean how quickly enigma processed that code? It's actually slower than GM to restart or go to a new room in ENIGMA, because it takes long enough to load there is a noticeable flash of a "black screen" in between a room restart/swap. GM 8.1, Studio 1.4, and Studio 2.x don't have this problem. So the way I look at it, this is a bad thing.
None of the enemies or obstacles that can kill you are able to do so from where you are standing at the beginning of each level, so I'm not sure what you mean here either.
But yes, I am very happy you took the time to play my game for as long as you have, and as many times as you have, and I'm very glad you took the time to write a review that long and featuring my game on the homepage. All that was very nice of you.
Thanks again!
Samuel

Only fair to warn you - no one new will use ENIGMA, even with RadialGM, if you force them to compile from source.
Ain't nobody got time for that!

You still didn't answer his question though, Goombert. When it is released, will there be a standalone available for each release, or will everyone be forced to compile it from the source code themselves?

I have an open source complete game on itch.io that works in ENIGMA, and you are free to check it out at the following link:
https://samuel-venable.itch.io/key-to-success
I am developing an expanded version of this game, but it currently does not work in ENIGMA without several tweaks so I'll let you know as soon as I have that sorted out.
Edit:
Done! After some small modifications I now can verify the extended version of the game works perfectly the same in ENIGMA as it does in GM 8.1, except in ENIGMA it has much better performance. I will be releasing this new version within the next week or so, I only have 3 more levels to design.

Tips, Tutorials, Examples / Re: Old GM projects working in LINUX
« on: April 28, 2018, 07:20:47 pm »
@Goombert - yeah, only thing that needs to be done is add support for multiple file filters in the "open" and "save as" dialogs, as mentioned many times before. My panties are in a wad because I still have no idea how to fix that and you and Josh either don't know how to do it either or have little priority/interest in helping me with that even though it is kind of important.

Third Party / Re: Tiny File Dialogs for ENIGMA (Windows, Mac, and Linux)

Hey, just wanted to let everyone know that I added a new Linux executable to the downloadable zip in the OP. Now there is one executable for 32-bit Linux and one for 64-bit Linux, to make it easier for you to test, standalone, without needing to start up LateralGM and all that jazz.
Note: It actually works better on 64-bit Linux because on 64-bit the dialogs actually keep focus over the game window. Since 32-bit Linux is dying, this is not that huge of a deal that it doesn't work as well on 32-bit.

Your design looks very nice. I hate the current site's appearance from the ground up. Perhaps with this update we could get rid of the Nnosnese forum? It just makes the site and community look bad, and I am a lot to blame for that... lol Josh has taken the freedom of speech thing way beyond what it should really be.

Special thanks to Josh for this one; I couldn't have done it without him!
Added single-file-filter support to Mac and Linux. For example, this works:
get_open_filename_tfd("Sprite Image Files|*.png;*.gif;*.jpg;*.jpeg", "sprite.png");
Multiple-file-filters aren't yet supported on Mac/Linux, so this won't work:
get_open_filename_tfd("PNG Image Files|*.png|GIF Image Files|*.gif|JPEG Image Files|*.jpg;*.jpeg", "sprite.png");
However, both of the above examples work on Windows, you should probably use the earlier example, so that it will work cross-platform. Multiple-file-filters will be added to Mac/Linux as soon as Josh and I figure out how to do that. Hopefully soon.
