General ENIGMA / Re: My name is Jason. Can ENIGMA be used to open .exe Game Maker made games?
« on: April 10, 2017, 04:49:24 am »
No, ENIGMA can not do that. All it does is read GM project files and attempt to export them to native .exe using its own runner code.
What you appear to be looking for is a decompiler, which as far as I know is illegal, so I do not recommend it. However, I do recommend you look at online tutorials if you want to learn how to make games. There are tons out there.

- I did not modify it in any way
- C:\Users\Samuel\Desktop\ENIGMA\
I ran it as administrator in the first place so I don't see how deleting stuff and starting over will help anything.
There is only one user account on my laptop, and, you guessed it, it is "Samuel"...

This should answer all of your questions - I downloaded the portable from github at that same link "fresh" and whatnot. This error happened. On the older portable it gave a different error which i do not have listed in this topic because i'd like to get the latest one working.

Thanks.

Works in Progress / Re: Croky
« on: September 21, 2016, 08:05:07 pm »Hey cobra! I am not able to play it because when I extract the file is "croky.bin.x86". I tried changing the extension to ".exe" but that did not help and I am unable to run it.
He said Linux, and there is no file extension for Linux applications, therefore don't use *.exe or anything.

General ENIGMA / Re: General questions about Enigma
« on: September 15, 2016, 07:54:44 pm »
Goombert,
something I would be really impressed by, is if you could pull off doing what you said, run GameMaker: Studio games (compile and run) with GameMaker: Studio's commandline / runners. But what would be especially cool is that this could open the door to editing and compiling GameMaker: Studio games on Linux and Mac OS X from within LGM.
The commercial Parakeet IDE does this (so it is perfectly legal) but it only runs on Windows.
https://parakeet-ide.org/
Since Java can run on Linux abd Mac OS X, we have an advantage here, so why not use it?
The only thing with that though, the end user would need to download and install gamemaker studio and all that seperately, as its against their terms to distribute mirrors of their software afaik.

Announcements / Re: LateralGM 1.8.7.11
« on: August 02, 2016, 09:54:42 pm »So, how to update the enigma portable build in order to run the new LateralGM? (Or do I have to wait for the new one in order to update it ...)
You can try downloading the new lgm and replacing the one the portable extracts with it.
