Harry Potter was an awful example. Reading code is fine the way it is. All I need is highlighting for blocks, statements, and datatypes, and I'm fine. Performance > Appearance, which is why companies like Microsoft seriously need to take a look back at their roots.

Microsoft seems to have lost their roots, a lot. Windows 98 was incredible for the time. 2000 wasn't as stable, but a much better OS. There are even some interface things XP should have had (audio preview in explorer, etc). Vista was feature-bloated and unstable. Windows 7 is great, but still quite bloated.

What graphics card do you have? And what do you mean by "not work"? I might be able to lead you to the right driver for it.

« on: August 12, 2009, 08:47:44 pm »Retro:You still didn't answer my question about char. Char won't work with double quotes.
The other releases handled strings the same way, don't worry. They must all be "" for C++, but you can use them just like you do in GM and the parser will handle it.
And will using Uint8 and similar types work in the parser?
EDIT: Random question - how far has Luda gotten with Colligma?

Stupid question. How will ENIGMA do this? GM supports this, as I'm aware.

local variables, class variables or type-definitionsWhat? It does this.
It highlights everything after the '#' symbol which is hard to read.Don't understand how.

The collisions haven't been finished yet, anyways. Speaking of which, has Ludamad finished Colligma yet?

Does this mean all single quotes are parsed as double quotes? Does it also change single quotes within double quotes to double?
Will char a='a' or string="string'd" work?

But really, we should stop.
And it would be cool if r4 was done by 09/09/09. And you wouldn't have to worry about releasing v1 until 10/10/10!

How can a syntax highlighter possibly not be good?
It... highlights. That's it. The only problem would be if it didn't highlight certain things, but it highlights all C++ syntax, AFAIK.
What else is it supposed to do? In fact, it takes variables from all the included libraries and ones declared before a line and offers completion for said variables/functions/structures/etc, making it better than most. If you hate the colors, just go to preferences and change them.

Question: Why do we care
Answer: We don't. ...which is why politics should become separated from religion, people should stop caring about religion, and SCIENCE should rule the world. Don't bother with something you can't prove.
Question: Josh, do you think you can release r4 by 09/09/09, to follow the sequence that r3 had set?

C# is stupid. .NET was planned on being Windows. Microsoft never intended nor wanted cross-platform, because they want people to buy their shitty product.

« on: August 10, 2009, 08:30:15 pm »This is is a stupid question. EXE is a Windows-only format. WINE helps, but not fully. Especially not with Game Maker, which makes EXEs that barely run by Windows standards.nope, I have computers at my school that won't run GM at all.Are they mac or linux based?
...
That's only because they don't have Direct3D installed, though.
