Issues Help Desk / Re: Is Enigma supposed to be able to compile and run gmk files? Mine doesn't
« on: December 19, 2015, 02:49:45 pm »
GMS 2.0 is around the corner, I think we should see a beta during Q1-2016.
So it would be a good time for ENIGMA to branch out and move on to being unique.
Nobody knows as of yet what GMS 2 has in store and whether it will be a MAJOR rewrite or same old same old........Personally I think there will be major changes such as the IDE being available on their native platform (Linux, Windows, MAC, etc.)complete IDE rewrite, no more of that delphi shite, etc. Was about bloody time they drop this and move on............so I don't see a reason for ENIGMA to remain compatible with old and outdated piece of junk. Now that YYG has the funding to support better development, this could mean potentially that GMS2 might be a MAJOR rewrite of GMS.
Look at all the discounts they are making to GMS, practically giving it away, + the exports, and those who missed the golden opportunity to get the android export for only $12 !!! that's a shame, that was a once in a life time golden opportunity.
Would be interesting if GMS2 allowed C++ capability the same way ENIGMA allows C++/EDL/GML to coexist, that would be great, of course their engine would never be open source, but it would be a step forward.
Of course GMS1 will still exist and people will still use it, they won't discontinue its use - however I think ENIGMA would be better off being its own product whilst offering the same flexibility and ease of use - in fact why not, even make it easier than GMS, it's possible But sadly what this project lacks is developers....and now YYG has the funds and has the developers don't be surprised to find slot machines and electronic casino games powered by GMS technology lol!
When was the last time ENIGMA was updated, 1 year ago ? No portables were released since and no updates.

« on: October 17, 2015, 12:20:13 pm »Actually, it`s a delibrate feature for GMS to corrupt games, if something fishy comes with license. Rumors are that only Master Collection edition is exempt from this.
You can't be serious are you ? GMS and MC are the SAME product, SAME IDE, same everything, the only difference being the licence that "unlocks" everything.
Perhaps they should teach their students to save backups. Hopefully all this will be taken care of in GMS2 when they get rid of the shitty IDE and get rid of whatever delphi is left, with IDEs being native to their platform (windows, linux, mac), but until then yeah, I don't think most people will experience corruption with GMS.
That school never used LGM, if they did, they would want to go back to GMS lol !

If somebody would just stick out a desk out there for me, I could accomplish a lifetime of work in so little time. I'm using one of these as my new desktop background for a while to freshen things up a bit. The site looks great and I am very impressed with its responsiveness with such high quality photographs.
Thanks Robert. By the way, you should try once sex with another person, it's even better than alone ! Believe me !
I agree with Robert, lots would be accomplished, all away from all the stress and bullshit and if you have $5k to spare you take Real Doll with you, the ideal life - outdoor desk, working, shagging your real doll bint, etc..........right Robert ?

//UPDATE: I purchased the bundle.....$12, wanted to give more, but I think I've paid my fair share to charities this year.... I think this should be called the Humble Crumble LOL........All hell breaking loose on the GMC forums, people unhappy, impatient, threatening to chargeback, reporting to IC3, fuck me sideways, it's amazing how things can blow up fast.
Though I do agree to some extent that this whole shite exposed a flaw YYG should have never allowed to happen, I guess this type of event was seen all too many times with their actual product. Their IDE is a mess to work with, the black theme, the constant flashing/flickering of some parts of the IDE, slowness, etc. Some things haven't changed.
Anyhow there is 1 day left to the bundle, but I'm warning you, be prepared to wait because you won't be able to redeem voucher anytime soon as their servers are bonked.........so much you won't even be able to validate your licences yet ! I spread a large part of those $12 to Doctors without borders anyway. FUCK IT, I can't believe people are charging back so soon, and some successfully........so yeah I feel bad for people who paid $299 for this........I first thought it was a scam at first the $12 deal as I never heard of humble bundle before, but when I saw this was announced officially by YYG, I read more about it.
So anyhow the voucher code does not expire, so honestly, unless they fail completely to deliver the product within 60 days period, I will just be patient and wait.
bTW, Harri, the licences require validation every month, and whilst they did dicontinue GM8 and likely will discontinue GMS1 eventually both will still be usable, but they would not be "GIVING AWAY" the Android export unless they were planning something big for GMS2, making the export useless.....as we both know YYG is a business, money first, and their interest first........Nice to see that such a short campaign nearing $700k, I hope this money goes to good use.

« on: September 20, 2015, 11:51:28 am »Is some kind of servers actually required for GMS to function? Like does it work when you don't have internet?
Initially when you run it, you do need a connection to validate your key. From what I recall they use periodic validation, I don't remember if it's validation renewal is done on a monthly basis or sooner but it's rechecked. Regarding GMS 8.1 that was discontinued, they don't offer it for sale or download, however those who still have the GMS8.1 installer, would they be able to install and validate their key, I don't know.
Quote
This just seems like a way they want to get more users, as they probably have sold GMS to everyone "professional" that was interested anyway. This 12$ price allows to get the kids who couldn't buy for 299 as well. Probably a means to combat piracy for an end of life product. Maybe they will remove all DRM and release on GOG two years from now to get the last cents.
From what I see they made a boatload of money from this. They are nearing $ 600k in sales! But of course comes the consequences, their servers are bonked, which means you probably won't be able to validate your licence for at least some time whilst the deal is on for the next 3 days at least, or longer for their servers to get back to normal. So those who purchased a bundle will likely have to wait several days to make it work.
As far as piracy, well do they really care about an EOL product ? They already have a scare campaign telling people that they can trace people who publish stuff compiled with a cracked version, which hints that your compiled EXE have some callback to remote servers, (but that is open for debate).
But that is not the issue, how do you think the person who spent $299 for the Android export would feel about this $12 deal...........not too happy. They are giving nearly $500+ worth of software in one bundle, for $12 minimum. They obviously have something BIG planned for GMS2 that will likely make people forget GMS1 and jump on the GMS2 bandwagon, and of course that wee Android export you purchased for $12 will probably be worthless.......you will have to repay for GMS2 (they probably will have a deal for existing users, sort of an upgrade deal,)
Yes, the reality is that they eventually will discontinue GMS1. whether you still will be able to install it and validate it, is a big question mark.
As far as releasing GMS2, I don't think it's nearing any release anytime soon. The beta is not even out yet.
I think GMS2 will just be announced officially, then comes the beta after that. One that will probably stand out is the native platform support for the new IDE........(Windows, Linux, etc.) Getting rid of the Delphi shite once and for all will probably be the best feature - I cannot bloody stand their IDE, they did improve it a lot but it still randomly flashes and doesn't work well at times.

Ok after researching this apparently not a scam it is discussed on YYG forum, but beware their servers are overloaded as a result. I guess this works on the principles of viral sales...........Right now YYG just opened the door to the flooding of newbies and crappy games !
OR it could be a scam, since GMS 2 is around the corner. This android addon will only work for GMS 1 ! You will have to pay the FULL price to get the v2 one.
once they discontinue GMS1, like they did with GMS8, you won't be able to use it anymore......
They would not be allowing the android export to be sold for $12, if they were not planning to discontinue it soon..........
They are making boatloads of cash from this and they are getting ready to screw us over like they did with GMS8.1 !
FORCING you to buy GMS2 and buy android export for v2........
If anybody fails to see through this you are naive.
So $12 for an android export, I am assuming it will probably be valid for a limited time before YYG discontinues it and makes it non functional.
I'm sure this is a limited licence and will expire soon.
I'm sure YYG will announce GMS2 officially before end of the year, and it will be released Q1-Q2 2016, by that time your $12 Humble Bundle purchase (the android key part) will stop functioning..........
If this is true and they play dirty like that, YYG will have lost lots of customers........No company in their right bloody mind would practiaclly give away their expensive software unless they were desperate for sales and not doing well....
Imagine the lot that paid $299 for the export, only to find out shortly after that they could have gotten it for $12.......Imagine the bloke who spent $149 only to find out they could have gotten BOTH the Pro and Android for $12...........So something is very fishy here.
Also read somewhere that the FlappyBird dev was allegedly using a cracked version and that YYG caught him, is there any truth to this story or is it just rubbish?

My take on this:
Moving to content area, bad idea, your alternative, bad idea.
Moving the panels to the right, sounds like a good idea to me, cleaner, although if I have to be honest, I wouldn't mind left or right OR you could convert the LGM into a ribbon interface LOL ! (kidding !

You can control it mate, it depends on you. You can still continue living the way you do and enjoy your money. It's the people who go public and literally advertise of their fortune and bag about it who become entangled.
and it's people who let themselves be influenced. People who properly manage money and know how to enjoy life without being told what to do, will be happy.
So if you are given billion $ and don't know what to do with it, fine, you can give some to me I'll know what to do lol.
I would just continue living the same way, and not flash/advertise my riches or live the life of fame and celebrity just continue on my quiet life and enjoy the perks of being able to afford what you want to, travel, and live comfortably, and I would not live in a mansion either I mean what the bloody hell use to have 15 bathroom, lifts, pools, big space when you are not going to use any of it, unless you plan on throwing parties ! Some people lead that lifestyle and are PUBLIC !
Saying that all rich indie developers are miserable might not be fair, those who are decide to be fair........there are some poor people who are miserable too, some average earners who are miserable too. Some things in life you choose.....when you are fucking poor, it's difficult to get out of the fucking hole. When you have all the money you'll ever need, what happens to you can be fully controlled.......if you let money and others control you, then that is your character........
I'm quite sure that for many here if you had that kind of money you'd change your minds.....
Nobody wants to spend their entire lives working for a wee salary - it's most people's dreams to being able to have enough money to live worry free

On top of that if I have a way to hide the fact I'm rich I would. Like if I could actually become rich without my name going out, then I think life would be a lot more normal. I think one of the problems why rich people feel isolated is because they actually isolate themselves.. like he bought a mansion in LA. If I was rich I would probably still live in an apartment.
Spot on Harri ....as far as the apartment comment, well there's rich and filthy rich......might as well spend the money, you don't have to live in a mansion with 15 servants, but who lives in a cardboard box with that kind of money......... Not all rich people are miserable, and those who are make themselves miserable.

Fucking rubbish - give me that money and I can guarantee I won't be lonely and I'll know what to do with it - No interaction ? WTH! it depends on the individual, the character, the lifestyle you choose, he chose his path. Let's not generalise here. I'm sure I speak for many who could use even a fraction of that bloody money and not everyone would be lonely........maybe he didn't find the female gold digger to siphon his bloody fortune yet, maybe then he won't feel lonely anymore LOL!

I agree with Robert, windows 10 is a fucked up mess. I did use the tech preview and it was stable and fast, but no cunt is going to FORCE updates on me and have me reboot all the time. Sorry Micro$oft but you blokes screwed up again majorly, haven't you been listening !?!?!?! I agree, Windows 7 is still the best option for desktop OS.
Mind you I have recently upgraded to the latest stuff and a new DX12 graphic card, so I might install Winshite 10 dual boot to play DX12 games, as DX12 will offer good optimisations.
Other than that, leaving holes, forcing stuff, they are regressing these prats, not improving. they give us back stuff but taking away some also. There is adware and spying in win10, you lot didn't think M$ would give you a free OS for a year just like that right ? upgrading to windows 10 is the equivalent of the mark of the beast.
What utter shite !!!
Major blow to us win7 users for making DX12 Win10 exclusive.
It's VISTA fiasco all over again!
And WTF, this xbox one rubbish and
recording games without bloody asking me, fuck you Microsoft.
Why not let your users make the decisions!!!!

Speaking of decompilers, didn't YYG patch this already ? What about YYC produced EXE, can those be decompiled as well ? As far as ENIGMA compiled EXE those cannot be decompiled either I guess, right ?
It's amazing how much people will go to length to steal from someone else.
That says a lot about the GMC community. Nothing is secure 100% but at least make it challenge lol.
I seem to recall mention that YYC compiled EXE would be difficult to decompile, they would not get code
or variables, or something like that right. As far as extracting resources that can be done no matter YYC or runner or ENIGMA or whatever, but getting code back would not be possible, integral code, scripts, variables, etc. Right Harri ?

« on: July 27, 2015, 10:49:47 pm »also while 64x bit may have not been as much work as adding all those functions, thats quite the impact too, a lot of windows users rely on game engines which only support 32 bit natively. So thats a huge plus that we have 64 bit windows now as well. Very exciting! now we can take advantage of those additional bits!
I wonder on the increase in speed
for games with lot of scripting,
array manipulation, file access,
calculations, AI etc, you know the
non GPU stuff, I guess we could
expect some speed increase
I do a lot of authoring and video work on my PC and most software I use now is native 64bit, so it will be a nice addition to have a 64bit game engine.
If I understand correctly, at this current stage we will need to have both the 32bit and 64bit versions installed in parallel right ? Perhaps
eventually adding the selection in the
IDE would be nice.
