Developing ENIGMA / Re: Command Line Interface
« on: July 06, 2014, 01:23:57 pm »
I know what TKG means, unless you NEED more than 256 colours for your sprites in such case you would use GIF instead, which is more suited for sprites than JPG anyway.  But anyhow with PNG I guess all that is moot, I use PNG all the time now.  Only thing missing in LGM is automatic support for APNG, directly
loading APNGs.

Still not a reason, it's not as if that was a hog, so they automatically take decisions for people and assume people will use PNG, and convert everything to it.  :D

Of all the shite they deprecated what's the reason behind removing the corner transparency ???  Why not simply ask the user to select / configure the transparent area ?
ASSUMING a corner pixel is highly retarded, what if I want another area to be transparent.
There are far more reasons why it is good to use EGM far more than just the corner pixel thing :D

Yes you did a great job egofree and the help is appreciated!  (Y)

Also where the hell is TKG?

Have you looked under the table ? ;) :P

Great stuff there thanks a lot :)

LOL!

Maybe egofree's latest LGM update inadvertently fixed the obscure thing that caused this issue.......

At the time I wrote the post I could reproduce his problem, I did not try with the updated LGM.

But we are all used to this here all the mysteries and near paranormal behaviours of ENIGMA, I can testify to that !  ;D ;D ;D

Actually, I have tested and I am not able to reproduce this issue, saving and loading a GMK with fonts it saves the first range perfectly fine. Can someone please provide exact steps to replicate, thank you.

You have all the repro steps from the OP.

The fonts do get saved (meaning when you reload it you see it in the tree) but try running a project that uses the declared font, it will not get drawn.

Create a font, font_0 for example, in draw event
declare the font and draw some text.
When you run it, it will display fine.
Now save the project. close LGM re-open it and reload the project......the font is still in the tree, but run the project, nothing gets drawn.

This only happens with
GM6
GMK
GM81

So the font tree itself gets saved, but something doesn't because even if it is in the tree when you re-load project, nothing gets drawn.

LOL - why is TKG's intro flipped upsidedown ????

Not a question of worth it or not, but for legal reasons, you want to protect your work and not have someone else take credit for it.  :D

I'm not sure 100% I said I thought, maybe I'm wrong, one would have to rollback on LGM and see if it was there,
maybe I was confusing with something else.

I know there is an undo/redo in the event code editor
in objects........ in room editor I believe there was but not sure on that.....

:D

Ok I tested - works.   BTW I thought there already was an undo / redo before in the room editor... Nice each view has its rectangle really nice, TKG will be happy also.
But where is the filled rectangle ?

Also under the "show" tab when you uncheck view, the view rectangle is still there, not talking about the view is visible, but the show view under show tab.  Is this normal ?

BTW you deserve credit when you contribute fixes or new features, you should modify the about area with your name.  You've done it in the source code but you forgot to modify the about. :)

BTW, and this is a question to all devs, shouldn't new revisions of LGM (bug fixes, new features, etc.) increment its version value ?  It's been stuck at 1.85.  Usually software company increment versions even on smaller updates.   Fractional increments for small changes and whole increment for significant changes.  So for example shouldn't this really be 1.86 ?

BTW, why the enigma.jar I thought you made changes only to LGM, shouldn't only the LGM jar be sufficient ?

If the user has bought the premium version of ENIGMA  (Profits: 50% for me and 50%

Let me check, yep, I have the ENIGMA Masters edition, so I'm covered :D

for Robert if one day he accepts my pull request) ;)

Before Christmas for sHure ...... :P

No actually Robert is not the only one, any collaborator with write access can merge...... just give them the green light and wait for it to be merged. :D

, it would have the option to choose the color.

Even better it would determine the colour automatically,
that should not be hard to do :)

More seriously, i was thinking to give the option to select colors :

Or display a different outline and fill colour for each separate view, so if you have for example 3 views, all 3 rectangle areas have distinct colours !

This is the behaviour of GM Studio

Yeah that might be ENIGMA's downfall one day......:)

Issues Help Desk / Re: script threading does not work
« on: June 30, 2014, 11:57:32 am »
I forgot we maintained a search engine, for a minute, there.

seriously ? :D

Unless Google is working behind the scenes for one big ass game making engines there is no reason why you should have legal trouble.

Mind you they should do that and offer it free, I'm sure YYG and the likes will love it :D  and that means more crappy games and more rich people......... :P

actually being open source they could :P
