In the mean time I'm joining a YoYo Games GMC Jam for the first time and I made a bytecode interpreter for GM:Studio that can also execute any GameMaker function. I made it work by automatically making wrapper scripts for every GM function like _GMfunc_draw_sprite(sprite,img,x,y). :)

This sounds fairly interesting. I'd like to see how it turns out! (Y)

I find if LGM wasn't written in java we wouldn't be where we are today. ENIGMA would be much better as well, as most users rely on LGM and not the CLI. Seeing all these topics with error reports reminds of this every time I visit here. I won't say much else since I'm being off topic.

I have to be completely honest with you.

I'm moving on away from game creation related interests.

So I really don't have any opinion on this.

If I did, it would be based on guesses, as I haven't actively messed with enigma that much in the recent past.

I actually really like this! Even my church logo recently went from detailed to more "app-able" and simple, like the yoyogames logo, everyone's making their logos simpler as of late. I like your design. (Y)

Third Party / Gmrename - Global Renaming Tool For Gm:S Projects
« on: March 15, 2016, 12:48:34 pm »
Quote
GMRename (Suggested by Samuel Venable)

Global Rename tool for GameMaker: Studio projects.

This tool can replace obj names, script names, sound names, sprites and variables throughout a project.

Example 1: Rename obj_a to obj_b
The tool will replace all occurrences of obj_a with obj_b. This includes the object name, object codes, scripts.

Example 2: Rename var_variable to var_roytheshort
Replaces all occurrences of the variable name with the new name.

NOTE! I did not have time to extensively test this. Please BACK UP your project folder, and use at your own risk. If something goes wrong, either revert to your backup or reverse the find+replace.

If you find a bug, please let me know either on this topic or PM me.

Donations let me keep developing tools like this, for free.

Didn't know about this until long after I was banned, but hey! At least someone did it...

From Slammin Sam's original topic:
http://gmc.yoyogames.com/index.php?showtopic=621186

Really useful for combining multiple projects that may have variable or resource name conflicts.

try removing the spaces before function parentheses. May or may not be of any use to you.

it can draw a sprite perhaps but really the only platforms worth setting your heart on would be windows, mac, and linux (native, that is).

"Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good..." Hebrews 13:9

I find we are being too distracted by things of very little importance. Each one of the logos in this topic are very good.

What about fixing the editor, and not the splash screen, which already looked fine before these designs came along?

It is not how it looks that turns people off, it is how it does not work, the real issue, which is being ignored to date.

Can not force contributions out of my pity, this is your project. So work on it, or don't.
