Off-Topic / Re: How not to comment code.
« on: February 12, 2009, 12:51:19 am »yeesh, those kinds of comments are why people are supposed to use descriptive names. real comments describe blocks of code. they only time you should comment every single line is assembly.Oh, so that's how you keep your brain from exploding when looking at ASM!

I once read somewhere that good commenting practice means to remove all your code and still be able to get a basic understanding of what your program does.
Though I do agree that is a bit overkill.

« on: February 08, 2009, 03:57:34 am »Windows 7 is faster than XP, even. :O Someone ran tests, it beat XP and Vista on every Computer they could find.Really? Well actually, for some results XP is actually better.
Still, I'm enjoying my taskbar. It's practically always 60% full whether I have my most used apps open or not XD

« on: February 05, 2009, 04:41:35 am »OK then, can we agree that Paint with a Ribbon interface is a huge step backwards?YES.
I just used it and it's a mess.
I swear it's been some time an application pissed me off this much.
Selections are always off by 1,1 pixels, and the options aren't that easily accessible to me.
I like the old positioning of everything.

DLL Support: That would break cross compatibility, though you really will need to get an answer from Josh.
GM7 Support: LateralGM has it, so yes. But not all functions are implemented and so on, so... :/
Enigma: Compiler for Game Maker code which is in progress. LGM is the front-end. Maybe.
Variables: Ask Josh.
Objects: Ask Josh.
Inheritance: Ask Josh.
Permissions: Ask Josh.
Ownage Factor: Not now.

This decision was made as a result of some lengthy discussion with Josh.
Begin your flaming/praise.
Note that the EDC theme's changes have been backported, so don't go expecting IPB pro being back again.
Also, yes I have edited the main site menu and news display.
