« on: June 30, 2014, 02:31:13 pm »Ok I tested - works. BTW I thought there already was an undo / redo before in the room editor... Nice each view has its rectangle really nice, TKG will be happy also.
But where is the filled rectangle ?
I said in a previous message that for the first release there will be only the 'outlines' version.
Also under the "show" tab when you uncheck view, the view rectangle is still there, not talking about the view is visible, but the show view under show tab. Is this normal ?
As i said in a previous message this is the same behavior as in GM Studio : if you are in the 'Views' tab, it will not take into account the 'Show views', and display always the views (Except if the views are not enabled or the view is not visible).

« on: June 30, 2014, 02:13:25 pm »BTW, why the enigma.jar I thought you made changes only to LGM, shouldn't only the LGM jar be sufficient ?
Answer here :
http://enigma-dev.org/forums/index.php?topic=2080.0
The egm files are managed in the Lgm Plugin, and i did a very small modification in the Tile class. So when tiles are loaded in a egm file, i need to update also the methods who set the positions of tiles.

If some people want to test already the new features, they can download lateralgm.jar :
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/29802501/lateralgm.jar (This file needs to be copied in the enigma-dev directory)
and the new lateralgm plugin :
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/29802501/enigma.jar (This file needs to be copied in the enigma-dev/plugins directory)
Of course don't forget to make backup of your original files.

Issues Help Desk / Methods setRoomPosition and getRoomPosition need to be updated in the lgm plugin
« on: June 30, 2014, 01:20:39 pm »
In LateralGm i've added in the interface 'Piece' the methods setPosition and getPosition. The Instance class had already these methods, but the tiles methods names were slight different : setRoomPosition and getRoomPosition, so i renamed these methods, but i forgot to update these methods in the egm file reader and writer in the lgm plugin.
I've fixed this error, and made already the following pull request :
https://github.com/enigma-dev/lgmplugin/pull/23

« on: June 30, 2014, 12:36:09 pm »Even better it would determine the colour automatically,
that should not be hard to do
You have well-known functions like 'invert' color, but i am not sure if the result is pretty.
Anyway IsmAvatar has accepted my pull request, so soon we should have a new version of LateralGm for everyone with the undo and the views preview in the rooms editor.

I just made a new commit : if the 'Views' tab is selected in the rooms editor, the views are displayed, even if the 'Show views' option is not selected. This is the behaviour of GM Studio.

« on: June 30, 2014, 03:49:21 am »Are you making that filled rectangle fixed colour?
What if the background colour happens to be the same colour ?
If the user has bought the premium version of ENIGMA (Profits: 50% for me and 50% for Robert if one day he accepts my pull request) , he would have the option to choose the color.
More seriously, i was thinking to give the option to select colors : if no color is chosen for the filled rectangle, no filled rectangles would be displayed and it would use the colors of the outlines. But for the first version, i think we would have only the outlines.

« on: June 30, 2014, 02:16:57 am »I agree with you there, by default it should be off.
You don't I said by default it's off, and i think it would be useful if by default it would be on.
My concern is that i am not sure a lot of people know this option, and they will never see views in the rooms editor.
Another solution is GM Studio : by default it's off, but when you click on Views tab, it displays the views. That would be fine too.

By default the 'Show views' in the rooms editor is set to false. I think it would be useful if by default it would be set to true.

« on: June 29, 2014, 02:30:01 pm »Can I make some suggestions ?
Of course.
I like the use of the rectangle outline, and the semi transparent one too, however, could you make it optional and allow users to disable it and use the rectangle outline only?
Why not.
Also for following objects, you could use a dotted line or line at the following coordinates.
I am not sure of what you are asking. Do you mean just a view with special border ? Or two rectangles ? One for the view which follows the object and another for the other one ?

I think it would useful also to take into account the option 'Follow object', to see the real position of the view.

I've finished to develop the basic features. More or less, for the moment, it's very similar to GM Studio :
The view is displayed with a 'black and white' rectangle. When ever you modify its size or position with text fields, you see immediately the result on the right panel. If you want to see views, the 'show views' option must be set in the room options, and in the views tab the option' Enable the use of views' must be set. Also the view must be visible. The aspect of the view looks ok, but i think it would me more pretty if we use a filled rectangle with a semi transparent color, instead of this 'black and white' rectangle. I would like to display in the center of the rectangle the view number. I don't know yet i will implement the creation of a view with a mouse.

I understand. I just hope you will have some time 'soon', because i have a lot of ideas for improving LateralGM
