IndieMendable (earlier it was called GameMaker Spiral) is a place where you can upload games and get feedback on them. It's made to look like the old sandbox.yoyogames.com (http://sandbox.yoyogames.com). You can upload your own games and search on the old YoYo website via the WayBack Machine and a database.

To do

Embed code
Code: [Select]
Put this in you signature to promote IndieMendable.

Embed code (dynamic)
Code: [Select]
This one shows current website information about online users and new games.

First of all, let me say, nice job so far! The theme looks way better than the original, and I like how you managed to make it look so great without going all flat HTML5 look like so many other people do. I am not surprised that someone would bring back the sandbox as it was very popular and it was stupid that YYG ever took it down to begin with.

I'm not very good at naming things, but just some ideas:

- GameMaker Bank
- GameMaker Blob
- GameMaker Paradise
- Game Maker's Paradise
- Retro Sandbox

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! :) That naming blog post was an old thing. In the end I decided to go with IndieMendable. (Though Game Maker Paradise sounds nice too!) As in mending YYG's indie community.

Also, who signed up as 'admin'? xD

I don't think it was me, but I may sign up as "GameMaker" which I did on ENIGMA's forum once :P

"New" YYG archive! Read this blog post (http://gamemaker.mooo.com/blog/?p=60) for more info.

You should look into asking the authors of stuff on the Sandbox if you can reupload their games, there's an archive of almost every game here: http://www.archiveteam.org/index.php?title=GameMaker_Sandbox
Also, you need to specify sizes for the text in the boxes or it might look different on other people's browsers (which it does on mine).

What boxes? And isn't that archive not already what I'm using? :)

EDIT: I don't upload the archive games because they're already in their archive if that's what you mean.

Maybe it's because you don't use Google services? I get the Open Sans font from their CDN:

Code: [Select]
/*
 * Open Sans font.
 */
@font-face {
font-family: 'Open Sans';
font-style: normal;
font-weight: 400;
src: local('Open Sans'), local('OpenSans'), url(http://fonts.gstatic.com/s/opensans/v10/cJZKeOuBrn4kERxqtaUH3T8E0i7KZn-EPnyo3HZu7kw.woff) format('woff');
}

EDIT: I just changed that so it should be working if that was the problem... If it's still not working, what browser are you using?

It's also strange that your search field is dark, don't you have an idea why my page is rendering so weird?

Yes, it's fixed now. It was because I've got Privacy Badger which blocks Google services to prevent tracking.

Added Markdown functionality to profile description, and also added link to this site in the links bar at the top of the site. :)

I just translated major sections of the website to Dutch! Any translators out there willing to help with other languages? I'm using gettext/Poedit format for translations.

Dutch version (http://gamemaker.mooo.com/nl/)

Check out http://gamemaker.mooo.com/locale/nl_NL.utf8/LC_MESSAGES/messages.po (http://gamemaker.mooo.com/locale/nl_NL.utf8/LC_MESSAGES/messages.po) for example.

That's strange. It works for me with snow turned on, even though it was actually a feature I made for last christmas. :D

What browser are you using, I tested it in Chrome and Firefox.

Firefox, I typed something in then hit enter but nothing happened when I pressed enter.

I think the page or one of the images was still loading then, but I changed it to add the keyboard event before the images are loaded now.

New languages added! Arabic, Dutch, English, German, French, Indonesian, Italian, Polish and Russian. (https://forum.yoyogames.com/index.php?profile-posts/1791/) Translators needed! Machine translation will never match up against your translation skills! :)

More information for translating here: http://gamemaker.mooo.com/blog/?p=97 (http://gamemaker.mooo.com/blog/?p=97)

Revised languages up 'till now: English, Dutch, Indonesian, German and Italian only partially, please help. :)

I made a new tool to help translate and update the files immediately for you. In the top-right corner choose a flag icon: http://gamemaker.mooo.com/language-updater

Haven't been able to access the site to reply to a comment I've got from you.

If anything, I'll look into helping out with Polish translations within the next few months (just now now because of certain contracts)

That would be great, Garo! The site has been offline for 2 full days because me and my brother couldn't figure out how to setup the server again on the new hardware we bought, but it's fully up again now. :)

I just Google Translated most of the Polish words, so now you only need to verify the translated words. I think the plurals failed though, so those need to be checked too. :D

No that was me Garo. xD I was just fixing the links on all pages such as /pl/users/<something> and forgot a semicolon somewhere. Nice, you translated everything! :)

I added just one new sentance on the front page and a few things that look like "No comments/games/reviews yet." Could you do those too?

Hello Garo, I just added an easier language updater. Could you check it out some time? :)

It's a very strange error. When I upgraded to the latest Firefox Beta, I also got this problem, but not in the other browsers (I tried both Chrome and IE). When I downgraded to stable Firefox, I got rid of the problem... What browser are you using?

Which version may I ask? I encountered this bug only in Mozilla Firefox 48.0 Beta, but when I downgraded it solved the problem somehow...

Sorry about that. New stuff is in the works while I sent someone at Percona Recovery a message about my problem. :(

These sites basically show the problem I'm having with the ibdata1 file:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/30360035/how-to-recover-a-corrupted-mysql-innodb-data-file
http://askubuntu.com/questions/509695/cp-fails-to-copy-with-errors-cp-error-reading-file-input-output-error-and
https://www.percona.com/blog/2011/06/03/a-recovery-trivia-or-how-to-recover-from-a-lost-ibdata1-file/

In the mean time I'm joining a YoYo Games GMC Jam for the first time and I made a bytecode interpreter for GM:Studio that can also execute any GameMaker function. I made it work by automatically making wrapper scripts for every GM function like _GMfunc_draw_sprite(sprite,img,x,y). :)

EDIT: The site is not totally dead anyway at the moment, only the front page (fixing that one now), the blog and the recently added visitor counter / online users counter are broken at the moment. So these pages do work for example:
http://gamemaker.mooo.com/users/faissaloo
http://gamemaker.mooo.com/users/Yambam

It's done! You can check it out (including some copyable examples) on the YoYo forums when the moderators mark it as visible: https://forum.yoyogames.com/index.php?threads/bytecode-interpreter-useful-for-making-moddable-games.3551/
