Religions are always right and anyone who doesn't agree with them are going to hell

That's traditional and dogmatic religions. But in every religion, you have mystics who talks about the same spiritual experiences.

Quote
So in my personal opinion religion will loose more and more influence until goes extinct in the age of reason

I doubt it, as human being is not only a logical being, but he has got also an heart with feelings, and science will never talks directly to human heart. But it's not its goal, and this doesn't mean science isn't wonderful. But i hope that 'dogmatic' religions, who reject science facts, will loose more and and influence.

If we speaks about science and religion, as the title says, everyone is always right, but everyone is not talking about the same thing. The problem is that religion talks about transcendental world and rejects science discoveries, especially evolution, and science recognizes only material world. So they have both partial truths, but they are dogmatic, because they don't recognize others partial truths. The goal is to integrate both visions. I was influenced by Ken Wilber, an american philosopher, who tries to reconcile these partial truths. If you want to know more about his vision about science and religion, i  recommend to read his book, 'Marriage of sense and soul' : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Marriage_of_Sense_and_Soul:_Integrating_Science_and_Religion

In some of his books, he talks also about the theory of 'Spiral Dynamics' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiral_Dynamics). It has transformed my world vision. This theory says that human being evolution goes through specific values systems, which are adapted to their life conditions. When an human being goes through a new values system, it gives him new possibilities to understand his world. The tragedy is that very often he thinks his world view is the only valid one. But world views, are only views, nothing else !

Off-Topic / 2064 games in 72 hours
« on: December 20, 2013, 03:21:45 pm »
For people who don't know yet Ludum, it's a games competition, where developers have 72 hours to develop a new game. Of course, you don't have always top quality games, but i find interesting, because often you have access to the source code. You can have access to the latest competition here : http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-28/?action=preview

It was fine before he came here.

Sorry, but it was not fine. I feel gratitude for all developers who spent their time on this project, but one year ago the project was very buggy. I tried very hard to develop my game with ENIGMA, but it had a lot of problems. I don't say GM is bugs free of course, but it's better. I am sure i am not the only one who feels the same. There is no wonder, if ENIGMA was not very successful so far, it was mainly because it had a lot of bugs. Anyway i am not complaining as it's free project, but if we want ENIGMA to become successful, we have to face reality.

General ENIGMA / Re: All Roads Lead To Rome
« on: December 19, 2013, 08:19:11 am »
It's hard to give one answer, as several items are important.
Concerning the full rewrite, i have one question : is really needed ? I mean why would it be necessary ? Is the project not well coded or it's because it's not easy to add new functionalities ? As i am not a developer on this project i can't answer. Anyway Robert you said you want to leave the project, so do you will have enough time to do it yourself ?
I don't think Android is the priority. If users are not happy with ENIGMA right now, it would not be helpful if we add Android support.
First, i think bugs fixing is the most important, as it was a problem before. I am sure that if ENIGMA was not very successful, it was mostly because of bugs. But i know a lot has been done already, and i didn't have the possibility to test in depth ENIGMA recently, so i don't know it's still a problem.
Then GM compatibility is important. I know a lot of people say GM is crap, but ENIGMA has been made at first to be a competitor of GM. Finally, it would be very useful to improve the editors.

TheExDeus:
I don't want to spend my time quarreling about this, as it seems that almost all developers are already doing it, but for example when i remember the following post : http://enigma-dev.org/forums/index.php?topic=1245.0 ,where Robert posted in may an update with a changelog of 66 items, mostly bugs fixing, it seems to me that was very useful for the project. So i don't understand when you say that Robert is not doing anything useful for the project.

When i tried ENIGMA in spring, it had a lot of bugs, and it's in much better shape now. And the person who worked the most for ENIGMA this year is Robert. If Robert didn't work on this project, it would be already dead. So people who are criticizing him should not forget this. I am very grateful for all the work Robert has done for us. Also he was very dedicated to helping people on the forum. I don't say he was the only one, but he has given a lot of his time helping others. Some people says that he didn't finish anything useful for the project. This is wrong. Two examples, very useful for me :  Inheritance and improvement of the sprites editor.
Anyway the day Robert decides to really leave the project, i am afraid the project will become vaporware.

When i try to run your game, it displays an error message : 'MSVCR100D.dll missing'. Would it be possible to include this dll with you package ?

What about adding these features :
- Undo function in the 'graphical' editors, especially in the rooms editor.
- Adding the new functions of GM Studio, like array_length_2d.
- Improving the rooms editor (c.f http://enigma-dev.org/forums/index.php?topic=1301.0)

Excellent ! You've kept your promise. I don't have enough time right now to test the new enigma, but  i will definitely test it in the future. Thanks again Robert and all people working on this project for all your efforts.  (Y)

First, your download host sucks

What's wrong with zippyshare ? No ads or captcha. Anyway i've replaced the link with dropbox :P

Also, why would a heart kill you?

Robert, you are young and innocent, perhaps that's why you don't know that often in life you shouldn't trust appearance.  You will learn that people with a 'beautiful heart' can destroy you ! ;)

I know that the game can be difficult at first. In the following video, you can see how to play : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kmsg4usmvRk

As i was asked by several people to add this option, i've added a new version with full screen mode : when you are playing just press enter to switch on/off full screen mode.

By the way thanks Robert for your feedback.

Works in Progress / Son of Blagger - remake

Son of Blagger remake

Project description :
Son of blagger is a platform game made in 1984 for the commodore 64. It was written by Anthony Crowther (c.f http://www.the-commodore-zone.com/articlelive/articles/12/1/Tony-Crowther/Page1.html)
Anthony Crowther was a famous programmer at that time, as very often he was writing alone his games (doing programming, graphics and music). He was also a very prolific programmer, as he could write games in a few weeks. I was a fan of Anthony Crowther and i decided to make a remake of 'Son of blagger'.
As i wanted the remake to look and behave as much as possible as the original game, i spent a lot of time doing reverse engineering of the C64 executable. I updated the graphics by smoothing them and adding light and shadow effects. This is the first time i tried to program a game.

Gameplay:
The goal of the player on each level is manipulate Blagger, a burglar, to collect the scattered keys and then reach the safe. The keys must be collected and the safe opened in a set amount of time. Blagger can walk either left or right, or jump left or right. He must avoid monster and deadly objects.

Keys :
Left and right arrows to move and space to jump.

The player can't make 'double jumps', except if he is on a slide. Beyond a given distance, the falls are deadly, except if he is on a slide.

Progress :
I consider the game is 80 % finished. The game engine is done, but i need to add an animation when the player has finished the game. Also i would like to add some options to modify the keys mapping, the sound and the possibility to use a joystick. I would like also to add some new levels.

Windows installer:

Source code of javascript version :

update (24.10.2013) : new version with full screen mode. When you are playing, just press enter to switch on/off full screen option.

Update (15.08.2015):
By default the game starts in full screen mode. You can switch off/on full screen mode with alt + enter (This the default keys in Game Make studio).
Also i made a javascript version with the Phaser framework. I decided also to share the source code of the game maker and javascript version.

Interesting, but it's too bad there is no sprites and maps editors included.
