Off-Topic / Re: The Atomic Game Engine goes open dource
« on: March 20, 2016, 02:47:29 pm »That C# scripting sounds interesting.
It's in development, for the moment you can only use Javascript or Typescript :
http://atomicgameengine.com/forum/#/discussion/129/atomic-c-scripting
By the way, i don't understand why they use the word scripting. C# doesn't seem to me a scripting language (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scripting_language)

Yes.

« on: January 31, 2016, 04:47:09 am »I think I found something ego, but I can't read the page as I know only intermediate Spanish.
https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Version_d'un_logicielQuote from: French WikipediaLorsqu'un numéro de version est composé de trois nombres, ils sont respectivement appelés : majeur, mineur et micro (en anglais major, minor, micro).
How would Majeur.Mineur.Revision.Micro sound to you? Does that seem consistent with the English version to you as a speaker of French?
Yes, this is the first page i read when i was looking for information about french 'versioning'. They say that when a version is made of three numbers, they are called : major.minor.micro. But we are using four numbers, and nothing tells us that micro equals to build. In the article they say nothing particular about micro. But i don't think it would be a problem to use 'micro' if you want.I translated 'Release' as 'Révision', but this is a subjective also.
In the end it's fuzzy, as in the context of computer science you will never find exact translations of these words in dictionaries.

Ok, thanks for the info, Robert. For the 'Build' word, i translated as 'Construction', but i am not 100% sure as it's hard to find information in french about this. I've found only two french pages about this property :
- http://gilles.tourreau.fr/team-foundation-server/tfs2012-comment-bien-gerer-lincrementation-des-versions-de-ses-applications-de-maniere-automatique-avec-tfs-2012.html
http://www.developpez.net/forums/d22800/general-developpement/langages-programmation/nommer-versions-d-application/
and they use the english word. Anyway i think my translation should be ok for this property.

« on: January 28, 2016, 12:45:25 pm »Actually, I have to disagree with you on that. It's certainly not good for my health, and you're right about that. However, I am convinced certain people with weight problems are just built that way (metabolism). I also know that a lot of people with different disorders will have larger stomachs because of gut bacteria and infections like yeast. The evolutionary argument is that humans hunted and gathered for thousands of years (almost the entire duration of human evolution). Our survival instincts tell us to stock up as much body fat as we can while we have the chance, like squirrels do in the winter. I do know a lot of foreigners like to make fun of American's for their fast food. However, the real problem is that America has a really productive economy and a gross supply of food (not necessarily a bad thing). Combine that with humans natural tendency to hoard food, and you get a mess of health problems.
He Robert, keep cool, i was just teasing you and i was kidding..

I've tested several french versions of applications (for instance Ms Office), and they don't used capitalized titles.
Be careful, if you want to stay young and beautiful, as people who go often to such places can become like this :
I'll be back in a few hours, I must go to Burger King

Let's say that french is more verbose in general than English. The more longer are the sentences, the more it's shocking from my point of view. With two or three words it's ok.
Don't You Think That It Looks Special To Have Long Sentences With Capital Letters For Every Words ?

Well, i know i said that i it didn't matter before, but in the end i prefer words without capital letters, except for the first one. I don't think there is a special rule in french, but it shocks me a little bit.

As you want to know more about culture and national traditions, let's have some fun , and let's listen to Alps horn (It's not the best sound quality, but it's hard to find good quality on youtube) :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hw-_vJvAGlk
In the background, between the clouds, you can see a little bit of the 'Matterhorn', a very famous Swiss mountain, very well known for it's triangle shape.
Alps horn are used sometimes by farmers in the Alps mountains, especially in Switzerland, but not only. Nowadays it's part of the swiss folklore, but i heard that before it was used sometimes to communicate. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alphorn)

« on: January 27, 2016, 09:49:58 am »Thanks. Can I ask you whether that is the same capitalization?
It's not different in french. I didn't pay attention it had capital letters in the middle. It's as you want.
Also, while I'm on the subject. Just out of curiosity, how do you speak/write English when your keyboard layout is (I assume) French? Wouldn't it have a different layout than QWERTY? I am just curious is all.
Yes there is a different layout. In France, it's Azerty. As i live in Switzerland where we have officially four languages, we have the quertz layout (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QWERTZ), with additional keys for french and german accents : (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QWERTZ#/media/File:KB_Swiss.svg) Anyway it's not big deal to write in english, as the special letters are on the edge. In the middle of the keyboard you have the standard and international letters.
