Off-Topic / Re: Developing Games
« on: September 18, 2017, 08:55:30 PM »
Just as a standard, for desktops I like to make sure I always support Windows, Mac, and Linux.

I wish I could (just for fun) make games for Solaris, ChromeOS, BSD, etc. but there aren't that many tools available to make games for those platforms, probably because of the lack of demand.

As for mobile, iOS and Android are all I care about. Tizen is dead and Windows Phone is dying.

tl;dr Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android.

Not sure when it may be fixed, busy working on sumptin' TOP secret so you won't have to worry about this problem ever again.

Sounds like a YoYoGames squirrel on the loose. :D

YoYoGames makes their offline manual by compiling chm's I guess. I don't know what they are doing for GMS2 yet because I am not sure if you can open chm files on Linux, but I imagine there exists some free program.

YoYoGames haven't made a Linux IDE for GMS 2, and Russell said they weren't planning on it.

Windows and Mac are the only platforms GMS 2 can or ever will run on.

Well that sucks!!!    :o :o >:( >:(

No big deal, we still have enigma and soon Enigma Studio .NET by me if I bother putting time into it

And don't you mouth off to me or I oughta slap you right in your penis.

This is what I meant by making it repeating, take a look at the old bg image for the Wiki main page:

And thanks yeah that looks great, I just tested it out on the Wiki and it does look pretty sweet:

What do you guys think?

I think it looks fantastic! Thanks for the design HitCoder! (and Goombert for adding it to the wiki).

I really like the look of this! It reminds me a lot of Prison Ball, which was a game that was featured on the YoYoGames sandbox back in the day. :)

Always be aware of the dates of posts on these forums. This is what you would call a 2 year necro bump. :)

Ok I tried ENIGMA on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and it compiled my game OK. Problem solved! Thank you so much guys!! :D

Unfortunately Lubuntu 16 gave me the same error. I'm trying Ubuntu 14.04 LTS as we speak.

I tried installing Xubuntu 16.04 today via the usual (wubi) and the installer threw an error before completion forcing the installation to not successfully complete. It only seems to throw the error when I select Xubuntu though, if I do the default (Ubuntu) it completes as it should. Since Xubuntu isn't working for me, I still haven't tried hpg678's original suggestions, so I'll try those hopefully within the next week or so. Installing these takes a really long time and it's very draining, I need a break.

Issues Help Desk / Re: ENIGMA 3D

It's better than GM in terms of speed and file size. Worse in terms of the amount of bugs. I guess these points could kinda apply to ENIGMA's 2D as well.
