Description

Encrypts an md5 hash of the given buffer contents and returns the result. MD5 is used in computer programming generally for security and to ensure the authentication of data.

Parameters

Parameter Data Type Description
buffer integer the index of the buffer to encrypt
offset unsigned offset into the buffer where the contents start, in bytes
size unsigned size of the contents to encrypt, in bytes

Return Values

string: Returns an md5 hash of the buffer contents.

Example Call

// demonstrates obtaining a hash of an entire buffer
var hash;
hash = buffer_md5(mybuffer, 0, buffer_get_size(mybuffer));
